Why raid 0 the ssd's? Please don't say for performance!
Also double check your PSU has the right CPU power connectors for these new mobo's. It probably does have them but worth checking first.
Oh and 4 years is a massive amount of time for a socket, doubt 2066 will last much longer!

After a lengthy battle between the inner-nerd and the frugal-gotta-pay-bills part of me, I settled on a single M.2 hard drive for the C: drive. I am going to raid a couple of SSDs and POSDs to get better performance out of them. It helped that a single M.2 drive on the PCI-E lanes has a nearly 40% read time improvement over two SSDs in a Raid 0 array.

They don't make them as good as they used to, at least in the consumer sphere. The motherboard before this one died a fiery death when a SATA cable developed a short and shot sparks and flames out of the case. With the current motherboard, I had to send the first one I received back as it was DOA. I was pleased to get almost 3 1/2 years out of it considering the complaints that were pilling up on Newegg about it after I bought it.

It's cheaper to ship everything, let the consumer be the QC, and replace the item if it fails.

3.5 years is still rather poor endurance; even if it is just long enough for the supply of new parts to be heavily depleted. OTOH at that age I'd be tempted to hit up fleabay for a used replacement to get another year or 3 out of the system.
Both Intel and AMD are finally launching chips that can scale both wide (lots of threads) or tall (a few really fast ones) depending on the workload. OTOH these're first generation efforts on both ends; and driver/compatibility fun is affecting both platforms to the extent that I'd just as soon wait 6 months or a year for all involved to sort out their messes.

I thought about that. After I restore the funds depleted with this little endeavor, I might just replace the motherboard with one from ebay and build a secondary system (assuming that the processor is still good).

Is it battery or mains powered? I need mains, since I need it to work for months at a time. Other than that it looks good but it doesnt do audio. Some for that price do.

I've seen various articles before of how to use a Raspberry pi to do that. If you are a DIY person, that may be more interest to you, and probably cheaper.

Before purchasing any of them make sure you do the "Has this camera appeared in a security related news article" check.
Some of the major brands have been known to have hardcoded unchangeable passwords and very lax security, looking at you Foscam.

For camera controller I use Blue Iris. It is amazingly powerful and very inexpensive. It does require a higher power PC. There is also a great mobile app for a few bucks more.
My most recent camera installation is the soccer ball-sized Sunba 601-d20X with pan/tilt and an amazing 20x optical zoom. Great camera, but an obscure web interface. Customer support by email is surprisingly responsive. It needs a higher power PoE (Power over Ethernet) to run the motors, around 45 watts. I'm using a 75w injector just to be on the safe side.
For interior pan/tilt cameras with audio, I have had several Foscam cameras over the years. Only one has died. I just purchased two of the newer F1931's for my wife's mother.
For fixed position, exterior installation, I prefer the HIK DS-2CD2132 mini-dome and the HIK DS-2CD2032 bullet because they have a PoE interface and that means fewer cables to worry about.

Here is my $0.03. I have three indoor and two outdoor NEST cams. All have two way communication. They are all plug into the wall cameras. They are Wi-Fi cameras and have a pretty good app and website. I initially got them last December because ex-wife. Long story.
Likes: Can check any of them at any time. All of them appear on one page but can click on any and get just that camera full screen. Records up to 1080p. All have great night vision. I can create a 'zone' to be notified when there is anything in that zone. I can set to be notified when a sound is detected. It will put an indicator on the timeline colored to the zone or a gray dot if it's outside the specified zone. I pay something like $50/year for each camera to have 10 day recording storage. You can get I think 24 hours free. Also can have 30 day storage for a bit more. I'll have to check out the software posted earlier. I can also have the camera turn off if I'm home which can be detected by location of the phone or simply the phone being connected to the Wi-Fi.
Dislikes: Drops offline. Used to be a lot! Like 2-3 times a day! They must have done a firmware upgrade last month because now it's more like 2-3 times a week! That's about it really. Otherwise I'm very happy with these. I guess they reboot after 12 minutes because that's about how long they are off and I get emails and notices pushed to my phone when they've reached 10 minutes.
They will suck bandwidth but not so bad everything else in the house suffers. I bought the Netgear Orbi setup to extend my Wi-Fi since I thought it was weak in the house but that wasn't it. Just a firmware issue with the cameras. I have Xfinity (6 Mbs up, 120 Mbs down).
I also have the NEST Thermostat. Not that they all talk but that's how I knew it wasn't the internet because in the 10+ months I've had the thermostat, it's dropped like once.
It was pretty much the 1080p recording that got me. Plus them needing only a plug. The outdoor ones I drilled holes through the house wall to plug inside. The wide angle lens allows me to see the entire front of the house with just two cameras.
I think that about does it.

The Nest outdoor is head of the list so far, the two way audio, and image quality, and night vision, is convincing. THe alerts are good and the wide angle means I can have one camera cover most of the usable part of the house.
I also like the one that disguises itself as an outdoor light though, it is more 'sneaky'. However since we will be renting the house we will have to tell the guests there is an outdoor security cam anyway so might well go for the Nest.

Here's one that has an absolutely fantastic video, has raised over $1.8 Million USD and is most certainly a scam and still hasn't shipped. Seriously watch that video.
It is so well done and this thing is based on an idea that everyone wants (cone of silence) that is impossible for a device this small but it definitely tricked a huge number of people.
