The "Corpse of Nelson" stuff was great fun to me at about that age (where you are blind folded and have to identify the "body parts" of nelson - e.g. cold spaghetti for brain, mostly empty jar of vaseline for eye socket etc.)

If it's in the woods, you could do a sort of fairy-tale adventure (evade the big bad Wolf, go around the witch's gingerbread cottage, etc.). The idea is to exercise their imaginations.
You might want to ask their parents how many are familiar with this sort of fairy-tale; it loses most of the impact otherwise.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

An aunt and uncle once organized something like that for my cousins birthday party, age range 10 to 13.
We went into the forest and some other family members and friends dressed up.
My grandpa was a silent fisherman who scared us when we got to close and other than that only pointed towards the next target.
Another uncle and a friend had a bed sheet on a cord between some trees that they would let go when a group of kids came close, it looked like a ghost crossed the path.
An aunt and my dad were the funniest, my aunt was dressed up as a frog and, together with my dad, jumped out of the forest screaming "CROAK!!!" and then be all innocent like "you don't have to be scared like that, I'm only a magical frog" and my dad was dressed up as red riding hood and handed out cookies 
Some of the kids got some pretty good scares (you could hear the girls from other groups screaming throughout the forest).
I know the adults enjoyed it a lot too, scaring a group of kids like that with a frog and red riding hood costume is a rather satisfying experience
Afterwards we had soup, bread and other food.
That was about 16 or 17 years ago (wow, I feel old now) and we still talk about it, so you could call that a success

I would never have noticed as I tend to exclude everything that's remotely connected to marketing and advertising (that also includes any speech bubbles from managers) from my perception.
Anyway, t´his one is great. Perhaps he should add another overlapping circle with the word 'reality' inside. Most managers suffer from a loss of the same and replace it with their speech bubbles.
