"Interesting" is when I can rely on a technology being stable enough for a couple years to do something interesting with it.
What you're talking about falls under the category of "abuse."

We went from Angular 1 to Angular 2, and it was a total breaking change, with new APIs, new patterns.
Internally at Google, the Angular team uses a tool for handling automatic upgrades, even of breaking changes. This is still something that has to be planned in more detail, but the team is working hard on making this tool generally available, most probably in 2017 in time for version 5.
There's a lot of other decent frameworks to choose from without going through that pain, and if in my not-so-humble opinion, if you're going to make a "total breaking change", the tools to upgrade should have been the top priority and made "generally available" from the get-go.
Version 5? WTF.

After you learned the core angular v1.x, angular v10.x will be out.

So few months back A2 was the new and the thing. Now it is 4. If my mathematics is correct, in next few months, they will release 8 and then 16 and so on.

I plan on taking 2 weeks holiday in April; so I'll skip 4 and 5 and wait for 6.

They stated, that Angular 2 is ready for the enterprise... Here the proof that it is not!
Enterprise if for decades and you can not base your product on something that can not be trusted not to break existing code... and with Angular we have a bad record...
(An interesting fact. Telerik, a supplier of UI - and related - components will release its Angular 2 package on the very same month Angular 4 will be out... Telerik packages are commonly made of 70+ components, but the Angular 2 release will contain only about 25, as the release actually about the finished internals and not about the finished package. They expect to finish all the components in 18 months, when all he fanboys will declare it outdated)

The rate at which new versions of almost everything are churned out is crazy. It would be nice to have some stability.
I'm not convinced that these new technologies are better either. From what I've seen in our dev teams web development is now more frustrating than before and takes longer than it used to.

When I use javascript, it's just plain javascript. Same for php.
And when frameworks change - WGAF?*

Nonsense. There are dozens of browsers that can handle it just as well or better.
It's like you still keep seeing "You need acrobat reader to view this document" everywhere -- even on UK government sites!

You missed something here... They are talking about moving AWAY from Flash...to HTLM 5 player...
I was pointing out, that they recommend for HTLM 5 Chrome or Firefox (and not IE or Edge) on Windows!!!

Sure, but I won't use Chrome or Firefox, either, and I'm not too happy about being told which browser to use -- it brings back too many memories of when almost every site owner annoyingly insisted that his site was "Best viewed in my favourite browser", during both of the browser wars.
If they said "May not work perfectly in Edge", I'd be happy with that; but I'll decide for myself which other browser to use, ta very much.
