Both - the forums were (still are) extremely active. And to redirect users to a completely different style of board (assuming FB, twitter supports anything remotely similar) certainly seems like a bad idea.

Active yes, useful no. With few exceptions, every thread that I read took a turn for the negative after only a few posts. They just bring out the worst in people. Better to just let it (the board) go.

I guess that depends on which movie/show you are viewing the board for. If you go to boards for really popular movies, sure, a lot of idiots do turn up. But the ones I went for were mostly nice and civil discussions. Oh well

I use it for TV shows and movies where the average viewer age is probably 30+, so I haven't really encountered too many crazy people. But I guess if you browse it for popular movies and shows, then you are bound to see some garbage discussions.

I strongly suspect it's about liability. Every now and then you run across rather nasty messages, some of which are arguably libelous. This is especially problematic when many people listed in IMDB aren't "limited purpose" public figures (as in a person who actively puts themselves on the public consciousness, as in most actors, directors and producers, but not most the film crew.)

Barely a week since the previous update, my VS2017 was updated to version 26206.0 yesterday. I quite like the 2017 version of VS so far. I do hope the final published version will also have a free community edition! I did not care much for the 2015 edition - way to cumbersome and slow.

I'd agree on the 2015 version - noticeably a lot slower than 2013 (which was a sluggard compared to 2010 as well).
How much faster is 2017?

It is almost as fast as VS2012. I haven't used 2010 in years, so I cannot compare it with that version. I must confess I did a minimal installation: Only the module for WPF projects. That may help to speed it up as well.

Not too shocking considering the "movies" were nothing but edited compositions of TV episodes.
