After work I'm mostly at that stage and then they drop a comment or two that's so incredibly sweet you think you will get diabetes.
Then they swear, I laugh, the wife scream and it's back to normal.

Though we teach our kids so many things, often enough we (can) learn from them.
It's bit of a shame really that kids are by nature mostly kind, generous, respectful, understanding, ... and society erodes that away for a great part.
(yes kids fight and are sometimes mean as well, I know, but very different than adults...

I know a cynic who would conclude this must be proof that you've done a poor job teaching them the value of money.
He would then use his daughter as a further example of people with poor decision-making skills, who tied her financial future with a guy who barely makes any money at all but then spent thousands he can't afford on an engagement ring.
Some people just can't be happy for others.
