I suspect Nagy may be one of the very few modern Hungarians to carry the rare genetic Magyar markers that go back to their ancestral origins in the great steppes, and these mutations, related to adapting to intense alcohol use to survive the harsh weather on the steppes, may enable his tolerance for massive imbibation.

I suspect that if Nagy contains any Magyar genetic markers, we need to do some research on the usage of Gin and Pörkölt for genetherapy.
And in my limited experience, the local plum brandy would probably be a more likely culprit.

The name is pálinka... and the most famous flavors are szilva (plum) and barack (apricot)... and it has nothing to do with gin and bitterness... but of course Nagy drinks them all...

As I remember it, it was called "grandma's best", but my memory is a bit foggy on that subject. What I do remember is that it burned like crazy.

Thailand offers some "Chinese medicinal whiskies" that are high-alcohol content, infused with herbs, and laced with better not to ask; in one shop here in Chiang Mai they have names like (translated into English on the shop menu) "Revive the Great Commander" ... I'll leave you to guess what that refers to. I tried a small shot of the brew that was supposed to be medicinal for everything from gout to schizopohrenia years ago, and it was pungent, strong-tasting, but not repulsive. A friend (expat from Europe) uses it for cough medicine, adding honey to it, and fresh lime-juice.
There's also local moon-shine (Lao Kao) which I've never tried (I do not drink any alcohol), but is supposed to be very high-proof, and, as often with illegal distilleries, from time to time a bunch of people die from it.

Aren't those the same markers that led Genghis Khan to enjoy alcohol and genocide? I'm pretty sure that Magyar is close to his birthplace, though that might be San Diego I'm thinking of...

I barely contribute to CodeProject but I've always found it a very helpful resource; especially in my earlier programming days. I've been coding in C# for a good six to seven years now and sometime ago I figured that I'd challenge myself at taking a stab on creating my own Simcity clone.
