My Logitech gaming mouse (I forget the model) also has a couple of switches on the mouse itself that allow switching between sensitivity levels. So while running/moving, high-sensitivity allows quick motions and almost instant turning. While, when using a sniper rifle, low-sensitivity allows for accurate headshots from vast distances.
The most useful is a button (on the side) you can hold down to go to lowest sensitivity while depressed, which I (actually my son, who is obsessed with CS:GO) can use to enter sniper mode temporarily and revert to previous sensitivity when released.

I am not asking of the usefullness of a single DPI setting. But the point of multiple of them!!

The point is having different settings for different software packages. Photoshop would have a different setting based for each function based on how accurate you need the mouse to be. CAD programs are a good example as well. Gamers use different settings depending on the game and role being played, i.e. sniper vs pilot.
When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others.

Once you get the DPI settings configured for the mouse in the Logitech software, there is a small button just below the mouse wheel. Click that button and you should see and indicator light as to which mode you are in. Each click of that button will change the mode and the sensitivity.

Higher DPI makes the mouse more sensitive, so you only have to move your wrist half as far to go from one side of the screen to the other. The biggest benefit is generally in gaming where response speed matters; however being able to fling your aim point across the screen in a small wrist twitch makes it hard to nail single pixel precision for aiming at targets far away. I've seen a number of gaming mice with a 'sniper mode' that lets you switch to a low DPI rate while holding a button for fine aiming. I'm not immediately clear what benefit a 5 level version would add, my cynisism suggests the "moar iz bettarz" silliness that infects much of the gaming world. OTOH I haven't played FPSes for about 15 years; and that's who the feature is mostly intended for.

Hi, I recently upgraded my very old dying mouse with a LogiTech 602, which I believe uses the same software you are using. I find that setting the dpi sensitivity to the lowest level works for me, but, I am not playing games with the mouse. And, I'm going through a "learning curve" adapting my mouse-hand to its sensitivity. One thing I don't is having the three customizable buttons just above where my mouse-hand (right) thumb grasps the mouse; it's too easy to accidentally click one of them, and on certain web-sites that has some strange like resetting the Tab to the home-page ... even though I have not programmed these buttons.

I agree. I worked for a company that developed hardware and software using autosteroscopy, VR, hands free, and haptics technologies. The products were focused on training for the military. We had several visitors from various companies interested in the technology. Interesting enough, most of them were from the porn industry.

Minitel, VHS (Over Beta Max) and the Internet all succeeded because of porn so yeah, nothing new here.
And whats going to make lifelike robotics succeed? Yep, sex dolls. And the Japs will be first with this, they already have a large industry making them.
Question is, will it be legal to have sex with a 2 year old robot even if it looks 16?

Yet in many countries cartoon imagery of under 16s for sexual purposes is illegal. The UK is in this list, pretty sure most western countries are too.
So for those with particular tastes will robotics provide an answer? Its a legal minefield for sure.

There was a case here a few years ago where I live where the police found child porn on some guy's computer but he couldn't be prosecuted since it was all animated. 
I think that robotic devices, however life-like, would be seen as nothing more than sophisticated vibrators and unit massagers.

Is that a federal law pr state law that alllows this then? Of course by extension child like robots would also be legal. In the UK cartonns are not legal, so robotic children would also not be.
Of course you have to ask the question, if robots provide an outlet for their desires do they protect children so regardless of the questionable taste of the things should they be allowed (and the same goes therefore for animated child porn)?

The US has some odd laws sometimes, at least odd to a European, where we expect tougher laws on decent behaviour.

In this case, it's more of a case that the current law didn't cover that situation. The laws sometimes are too specific. But then again, that's a probably a good thing. Wouldn't want some bureaucrat suddenly deciding on a whim that something one has been doing for years without issue is suddenly illegal because some law is overbroad and the bureaucrat's knickers are stuck up his arse.

Odd, just looked it up and it is quite specific "any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor (someone under 18 years of age). Visual depictions include photographs, videos, digital or computer generated images indistinguishable from an actual minor, and images created, adapted, or modified, but appear to depict an identifiable, actual minor. " in not including cartoon images.
