I'm sorry that your first experience of the lounge broke the forum guidelines and the residents pounced on you. Please don't let this put you off what can be an excellent resource. Before you reask your question, there are some points you need to consider.
  1. As this is homework, you must have covered most of this in your course already. Take a look back through your notes - they should help.
  2. Don't try to write the code if you don't actually understand the problem fully. By this I mean that you should spend time thinking about the problem and then break the requirements up into smaller parts until you fully understand all the requirements.
  3. Don't make any assumptions. Where is the data coming from? Is it a traditional database? Is it flat files? Excel? What format are you going to get the user name in?
  4. Before you ask questions, make sure you provide sufficient details for us to help. For instance, your question missed out things such as which technology you are using. We can't see your homework sheet and monitor, so we would be making assumptions.
Good luck.
