Pretty soon, I need to surrender myself to the unknown.
If I remember, free upgrade is only for an year from date of launch. So I don't upgrade now, I forego my claim and I am stuck with Windows 8.1 or buy Win-10... Is that right ?

In my usual cynical outlook I'll just open up the following can of worms:
OK - you do whatever it takes to install everything and get it all working. Then a Win10 update comes in and trashes whatever MS feels like trashing - or perhaps they're just using you to beta-test the update.
Then what ?

I must have done something wickedly wrong, because I had no serious issues with 10 since I switched late last year, just a few minor oddities. Now I'm worried.
