Hungarian notation was a virus... pi32wdValue  The only part I retain is the lower case p to indicate a pointer (sorry, live in a hard core c, c++ shop) and that p makes it obvious.
but I just don't see much diff between pascal and cc.

Now the computer asks to restart each time it starts...
Not a big issue as I can say do it later, but...
Any idea to avoid it? anyone has seen the same behavior?
PS: I can see aero is disabled, just when it gets enabled the reset message appears...
It looks like any software upgraded on windows 10 can have issues... more if the software was an update like updating the displaylink software for the old usb docking station...

The only thing I can suggest is going to windows update and undoing updates in reverse-date order until the behaviour stops, because it's possible that it's a win10 update that's causing it.
The only other alternative is to join the list of Win10 updaters who wish they'd never clicked that button, but are stuck with it.

The last update is the windows 10 update...
I was very happy with it, but a specific software was not working there and I needed it so...
The problem is now going back to something reliable:
- that start issue.
- the MRU in the start menu is not working (I can' see it for applications I've used in Windows 10).

If you've not seen it, a wonderfully dark, bleak and depressing look at such a dystopia can be found in "15 Million merits", S01E02 of the British series Black Mirror.
Basically, the walls and ceilings of your living-space are covered with LCDs that show continual programming. Adverts will pause if you look away and wont resume until your gaze returns to one of the screens. For a fee, adverts can be skipped.
The show is, I think, really well done - even though so very bleak.

Have they actually done this? If they have, then people need to be arrested.
Did they have a working prototype (installed into the eye of a real person) included in their patent application?
Do they have anything that really, actually, incontrovertibly PROVES that they can do it?

Lens replacement surgery is so common that they do it by the roadside in India and Africa. This would just be a smart lens instead of a passive one. Really don't know what all the horror's about!

There's a bit of a difference between inserting a lens built in a specialist laboratory and inserting a ****ing spyware computer in your eye.

Can anyone recommend a Home Security Camera system? I was thinking something USB based that connects to the PC so I can remote in and see what's happening from time to time. Needs to be less than $200.

I would suggest any decent IP webcam, that way you do not need to connect via a cable to the PC.
As for software, apparently there's a really great application that connects to usb and IP based webcams for motion detection - I think it's called something like tebocam[^].

 a small tweak to the UI and the number of cameras can be increased.
I chose 9 because I thought 'anyone who needs more than 9 cameras is probably going to be able to afford to pay for a security system'.

I second that.
Get an IP Camera, axis, Hik / Swann, whatever.
Then you don't need the PC turned on, and get one with an SD card slot so it keeps the last few days of video recorded on it.
you can get these for around £150 in the uk.
