Brittle, may be?
How about giving a try to my own name?
It does fulfill the conditions, I hope.

Half(ish) of BRITtle is a BRIT, the use for the cypher was because I could not find suitable symbols to draw a crack, a fenditure.

So instead of some kind of representation of the answer you elected for something totally unrelated to it in any way? You're not by any means the first to do it so I'm not singling you out. It's just that I have to wonder, also not for the first time, what the value of this daily puzzle is if all the potential solver has available is a wild stab in the dark based purely on the position of a repeated letter. Somehow I can't imagine even Sherlock Holmes deducing that you're using a ROT -1 cypher on the Greek alphabet for no other reason than that you can.
It seems a long time between occasions on which the answer and the 'question' are remotely 'synonymous'! This bothers me. Others it may not.

Well FOSW rely heavily on obfuscation, basically the first way to solve it is to look for the words with that number of characters and search for a pattern - dooubles, repeating substrings and so on, then giving it a shot.
If it is feasible then one can make an ASCII representation of the word in order to give a clue, especially if there are no patterns. Graphically rendering the letters, as could be 8\1^^|# for Brittle, may oversimplify things.
The idea in my case was that I was consistently using a single alphabet - so they probably were representations of the single characters. Looking at the Character Map (or the common greek knowledge built up in any decent human/math/physics high school course) one could find all the greek characters and looking at right the next one or the previous one wopuld be a common first try. At least, it it what I would do in such a case.
Also, hints are pretty important - as you saw it didn't take very long for the puzzle to be solved, all of my FOSW has been solved in less than 3 hours and with 2 hints maximum, which with all the time zones complications is indeed a short time. I don't think I made a poor job - in this case though I couldn't do better since the word was hardly describable in a 7 characters ASCII art.

Sorry to see that you have to explain yourself so detailed on such an easy game. But my 5 for that explanation and you did a good job on that one, i liked it!
BTW, you could just have send him to read to rules to get a "better" idea of it, therefore take another virtual +5 and a Medal of Honor for this explanation

I like explaining things on which I reasoned about. BTW I find it funnier setting FSOW than actually solving them, and if someone gives me feedback I'm happy, at least I did not waste such good thoughts

In Forum(Question-Answer) section, authors use "code" to format/display code properly when answering/questioning. Like "Javascript" tag use to define javascript code. I think there is requirement to add one more tag as "Razor". Razor generally use in ASP.NET MVC veiw page. When we are adding razor code it is not properly displaying like others.

Are you sure it doesn't exist already? I've used it a few times, doesn't seem perfect but appears to at least be recognised.

That means we need to use "HTML" tag for that? If it is other than that please specify.

Hello all,
Essentially in our company we switched from Vodafone to Orange and it doesn't have data signal in the street where our company is (we can use the phones in our company though).
This is only affecting me as I'm used to call my wife when I'm leaving the company.
Before I had a blackberry and all the voice recognition was performed in the device itself so I could press a hardware button and start speaking to get the call done, therefore I was able to call anyone while driving.
Now the voice recognition (we have Samsung galaxy s4 phones) runs on external online servers and this means that I can't make a voice call when there is no data service.
Is it possible to get a program to do this?
To attach it to a double press of the home button...
Anyone has found a good option to do that?
PS: I tried UTTER time ago, but it can only listen to English, therefore it is a bit strange calling my wife in a weird accent...
I've read in the Internet that "Google Now" can do it but I've not found the way to make it.
Thank you in advance!

The 5.3 update of Google App contains offline mode for a selected group of voice commands - calling not included...
The only option you have now is using some 3rd party from here: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=voice%20command&hl=en[^]
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Thank you Peter!
I've been searching there for a long time and it looks like it's simply not there...
Curiously the Blackberry approach was powered by Nuance and even that option for Android requires a data connection...
Even Utter which seems to be the option when speaking about offline voice commands is returning an error when no data connection is present...
