Well my car needs work. I had just put in a new (rebuilt) transmission then two weeks later a valve goes. I only have 70K miles on it, and I try and drive conservatively.
So I am looking at (in no order)
Chevrolet Malibu LT1
Ford Fusion SE
Honda Accord EX
Toyota Camry
I have had a couple of Camry's that I liked but I no longer live that close to a dealer, I live closest to the Chevrolet place now, but my current car is Chevy which has had a couple of recalls and now the problems.
Just started looking, and since I have a pickup truck I can use, I am looking at February to buy.
I have only test drove the Ford as I want to go in the day time and it is dark after work. So Saturday morning I will be trying to hit a couple more.
Anyone have suggestion of which to get?

If your Chevy dies with 70k you arent compatible to it. 
I like the Toyota quality, but driving (a cheap) Ford. But it also needed some extra fixing which wont be with a Toyota. I would check the Honda first, than Toyota because you drove some. Take a look at the extras/gimmicks.

I'd go for the Ford. The build quality appears pretty good and you get a lot of car for the money.

Thank you, my parents always got Fords up until the mid 80's. The pickup I am driving is a Ford and so far the only problem is the oil life counter does not work (correctly).

Recently went through the same process. My 2001 Honda Accord w/ 150K+ was usable, but the short term repair needs would have cost twice the car's value. Time to bit the bullet.
Tested your list (except the Chevy) plus the Sonata and Optima. Ended up getting another Accord (EX-L V6, I love my V6!). Got a great deal by buying a 2015 model off the lot. Hope to get this one to 200K!
BTW: I hope no one takes offense, but car salesmen suck. Glad I don't have to go through that again for another 15+ years. My condolences on your ruined Saturday.

I guess it depends on what you want in a car. If you want to buy home-grown, naturally the Chevy or the Ford are to be chosen between.
Personally, I value comfort and reliability equal and above all other factors. If this is similarly important to you, the choice is perfectly clear - the Toyota every day of the week and twice on the 29th of Feb.
They've the best fuel economy, are perfectly comfortable and have consistently shown themselves to be sturdy, reliable unbreakable cars. It's certainly no coincidence that they're made by the maker of Corolla, Hilux and Landcrusisr models.
We're driving a 97 Camry that replaced an 87 model a few years back after an accident retired it.
The current one just ticked over 380,000 kms last week and hasn't had more than a new filter and change of oil in the five years we've had it. It's life in the previous 13 years was no different after the warranty period expired - much(most) of it's life spent on long distance trips by a careful driver.
Here's a couple of the links I perused to see if others experiences matched mine and those of friends/relatives.

I have had a couple Camry's. The last one was in two accidents before I had to retire it. Did not have the money at the time to get a new one, so have been buying used vehicles for the last few years.
Not a lot of luck there. So when the Cobalt was offered I thought hey I know this car has been well cared for and it was great for a few years, then all of a sudden started to fall apart.

I'm curious if anyone's tried one of these?[^] I'm lusting after an XPS13 as my auto-Christmas gift; and Dell's willing to throw in the tablet for only $99 more. Assuming it doesn't have any major deal breakers (and can upgrade to w10 without issue); I'm half tempted to get it as a screw around device.
On the other elephant, that Dell's doing a promotion like this suggests that either there's something fundamentally wrong with it; or just that no one wants to buy a W8 tablet instead of Android/iOS one if they have to pay full price and that they just made too many of them as a result. One of these is a potential show stopper; the other just means a cheap toy for me.

I've got one of the Venue 8 Pro models as does the wife. I think ours are the 5000 series and normally have it on me for taking notes in meetings and so on at work, but I forgot it today.
Is it worth $100? That is really your call. I think they were around that price a year back. Nothing fundamentally wrong with them but they were not worth the price they came out at originally. I think Dell made them during the time that they were desperate to get anything to sell.
To be honest they are pretty nice for a small tablet that you use as a small tablet. But! Make sure to read everything about the model you are getting. I think the 5000 is better than the 3000, even though the 3000 is the more recently released series. If I remember right at the time I picked it up, the 5000 had more ram (2gb vs 1gb) but a smaller storage capacity. That might have changed.
Long story short... we bought one for her ordered the active digitizer stylus and the stylus did not work. We were on the phone with Dell tech support trying to figure out what was wrong. Turns out at the time the older model supported them but the new one (the one we got) did not. Had* to return it, hunt down the one which did.
I ended up getting one for myself, got a Logitech BT keyboard for it, and for the most part it replaced my pen/paper and laptop for meetings since it is more discrete and syncs up with OneNote.
*Wife hates the fat stylus pens and wants a precise stylus, she was originally a graphic designer.
