It's just adding clutter and duplicating messages. And those of us who regularly do spam cleaning tend to see the messages, and/or check the Spam forum on a regular basis. I generally check the Spam forum in the morning before coming to the Lounge.

Looks like an adjacency.
In the Healthcare space, there are similar accelerometer-based devices, wearable on elderly people, which send out messages when they suffer a fall at home, especially useful when no one is around.

I think a better design would be a silent system that sends out a text with a location every 30 seconds. The loud noise would draw the attacker's attention probably followed by a foot coming down on it and breaking it.
Much better to have a silent device so that if the person being assailed is being dragged off into a car they can be located more easily and it being silent means that the attacker is not immediately aware of the beacon.
