GeneralIs this banking institution being unreasonable? Pin

Here's the situation. A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away ...), I walked into a branch of a major national American bank and opened up some accounts (i.e., checking, brokerage, IRA, etc.), and was able to set up a passcode that I was to give to a telephone representative to help me with my online account. I no longer have those original accounts (or they are dormant, etc.), but do have an active credit card account. The code I gave is what I now consider to be a "throwaway password" to log into any internet account in which I can't be financially or legally harmed (like CodeProject Laugh | ), whereas I use different passwords for any banking account, and especially the ones where payments can be made from my main stash OMG | :OMG: OMG | :OMG: . Anyway, this passcode is the last instance of my having this "throwaway password" for something important, so of course, I want to change it, or even delete it, since I have a different passcode for my credit card account.

So I ask how to change the online passcode, and I am told that I need to visit a branch. I respond with the fact that I live far away now, and am told, sorry, no go. I call up the "Executive Office" number that GetHuman.com recommends, and I end up talking to a few folks that purported to be "executives" who, even after I strongly mentioned that this passcode should be considered insecure, that I could not even get it deleted! Mad | I then said that any major institution these days has someone called "Chief Security Officer", and asked to speak to his office since obviously there is a big hole in the security procedures if a customer tells the freaking bank that the passcode should be considered compromised, and the bank cannot do anything to stop it from being used! (Of course I was denied. Dead | X| ) I then told the last yahoo that the government is going to force them to do this for me, and then promptly filed an official complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
