No way! I not only hide extensions, but I hide filenames too! Just give me a funny-looking icon to happily double-click... Because I totally trust MS's built-in antivirus to keep my computer clean!

Seriously though... Yeah... I think all geeks disable that "hide extensions" garbage. Programs can mess with file associations to change what shows in the "Type" column, but the file extension itself never changes.
