Not a new idea but the first time it has been commercialized. I recall my grandfather pontificating about this when I were a nipper and lego had just arrived in the UK. And didn't James May build a e lego house a few years back?
Still, about bloody time, really. Going to buy me some land and build me a lego cabin.

They've already thought of that - they have a smooth-topped "finishing block", as well.

It was a somber but grand farewell for a beloved cardiologist, who had passed on. As a grand finale, the wall behind the casket, which was designed to look like a beautiful heart opened and the casket slowly disappeared into it. Just then a couple of men sitting in the back row could not control their giggling and nudging each other in the ribs. The master of ceremonies was visibly upset and walked up to them and asked as to what they thought they were doing.
They replied, "We are a proctologist and a Gynocologist. We were wondering as to what would be the design of the door that we will be disappearing through one day!!"

That's trivial: just code for a system that uses "B" [Branch] instead (e.g., S/360 et seq) or "TRA" [TRAnsfer] (IBM 704x/709x).
Serious question: does any current-production assembler *not* use "JMP" (or some other mnemonic based on "jump")?

...So here it is at last: The Shepherd's Crown[^]
The final, last ever, never to be written about again, Discworld novel is finally out.
I don't honestly know if I want to read it.
If I don't, I can anticipate a "new" Discworld book for a long, long time. And perhaps that's a more fitting tribute to Sir Pterry than just keeping him in the Clacks Overhead Chrome extension.
But if I don't, I'll miss out on (hopefully) his finest work.
Does that make any sense?

It makes a lot of sense.
I had the same with DNA and his last work was incomplete...however I was glad I'd read it even then. We have so little of the genius these men created available to us that to deny ourselves any seems foolish.

Read going Postal recently (think I said here that I was going too). Found it enjoyable, he definitely had a way with words, a few humourous bits, maybe a bit teenagerish, definitely going to read some more.

I don't know any Terry Pratchett story.
Judging from all of the comments on CP he's pretty great and he has written A LOT.
I know they made some Discworld games[^] a long time ago (read about it at the time) and there's a mini series[^], but why isn't he more popular? As in LOTR, HP or GoT popular?
I rarely see any of his work in the Netherlands, while other fantasy, like the ones mentioned above and, to lesser extent, The Sword Of Truth (Laws Of Magic in Dutch) by Terry Goodkind and The Farseer by Robin Hobb are pretty popular in bookstores.
I don't really read novels, so I'm really waiting for a Discworld movie. Is the mini series any good?

There are a couple of TV Movies (which I understand may be on Netflix, but I don't subscribe, so I can't check) I've seen them on Sky, and they weren't bad - pretty faithful to the original material (but with a lot left out, as usual).
There was supposed to be a TV series "The Watch" but that seems to have gone all quiet since 2012...
I'm just guessing that he isn't "big" in the Netherlands because of the difficulty of translating him into Dutch?
