Those are some spectacularly bad assignments.
While certainly I wouldn't blame the teacher for their being posted here, there was that one teacher who instructed his students to post their solutions as articles here... 
Anyway, here are some thoughts on why a teacher might post assignments here:
0) To see what reception such posts receive here -- certainly a teacher would be pleased to see that "we will not do your homework for you".
1) To see what code "experienced professionals" will produce, to use as a benchmark for what gets turned in.
2) To have code to compare against to see if a student simply copied-and-pasted the best answer available.
However, I think last night's barrage may have simply been college kids having a little fun. Like making crank calls.

If I currently have Windows 7 Professional installed with Secure Boot turned off in UEFI. Then I upgrade to Windows 10 Professional, does anyone know if I should then turn on Secure Boot to make all good with the Microsoft world, or will this break things?
If I am installing Windows 7 Professional on a new computer for the Windows 10 Upgrade, do I have to install all the Windows Updates like I do before installing the Windows 8.1 Update on Windows 8?
Or do I have to do the Windows 10 Upgrade to get my key and then wipe the computer, turn on Secure Boot in UEFI and then install Windows 10 cleanly on the computer?

You don't need to turn on secure boot at all.
The only update that needs to be installed is Service Pack 1, I had 62 updates waiting when I did the upgrade and there was no problem.

If you're upgrading it's not required.
As far as does MS recommend using it, well yes they do, considering that all new machines must have it turned on and it is up to the manufacturer of the machine if they put the option into the BIOS to turn it off.

However if you turn it on after install/updating, if may or may not configure correctly.

I'm looking to get a new PC. Not sure how much I want to spend yet somewhere on the more affordable end. Does anyone know of any good sites where they allow you to customize your PC and are affordable? What do you guys use when looking for a new PC?

I lost all faith in TigerDirect after they hit my CC for nearly $2,000 for an item I hadn't ordered - because of a fault in their system which they took three weeks to admit to and then only after legal threats.

Ugh, TigerDirect...
I stopped doing business with them after I heard the horror stories about what was essentially credit card fraud. People ordered televisions from them during a black friday deal, and TigerDirect later decided not to honor the price. Rather than cancel the orders, they instead charged their customers full price. Which is illegal.
Me? I deal with NewEgg. Their prices aren't always the best, but they're typically competitive, and (in my experience) their customer service is one of the best around. I'm willing to pay a slight premium for peace of mind.

I read about that. Their defense was absolutely crazy. AFAIK, they lost and had to refund the money.
There are millions of horror stories about them. They should just be shut down and the executives put in jail for all the illegal things they do.

Strange.
My personal experience is absolutely and totally opposite of all I'm reading here.
Spec'd out a machine in 2004, great stuff, lasted years, motherboard finally failed on some capacitor; totally predictable lifespan.
In 2009 I bought a refurbished GPS from them, connect and go, worked, duh, a year ? two ? three ?
Whatever, at least 5x the warranty period on both items.

I've been dealing with NewEgg for years and they have good deals and stand behind their stuff. Never had a problem with them.

I second Dell.com. Over the past 15 years I must have bought and re-configured 30 or more Dell systems for the family and work. I did not have a single disappointment. 
I will admit that Dell systems come with a lot of garbage ware, that you have to get rid of. But which manufacturer is not guilty in this regard?

Precisely the reason to...
- buy the parts
- pay the (none dare call it outrageous) fee for the operating system of your choice
- spend a weekend assembling it at home
- install the OS yourself

I go into my local Fry's Electronics and buy the components I want. Once my wife approves the budget of course.
I economize by reusing the case and power supply and other components that don't need to be replaced -- 56K MODEM, floppy drives, etc.
And I always start with a fresh hard drive.

I have always built my own systems, shopping around for deals on the exact parts I wanted, but if I needed a new computer right now, I think I would consider getting one of those Intel NUC, Gigabyte Brix or something similar.
That PC Parts Picker site linked to above looks interesting.
I have never had a bad experience with Newegg. Their time to delivery is insanely fast (I guess it doesn't hurt that I only live about 140 miles away from their main warehouse  ).

The last PC I bought was in 1994, all since have been built from parts. Newegg is probably the best source I've found, especially since I'm rather fond of SuperMicro MBs. They're one of a very few places that carry the brand, though you do have to search to find their stock.
Will Rogers never met me.
