The one problem I have with the Omnibox is that it leaks information.
It leaks info about previously visited sites - this would be acceptable if I was typing in an address, but when I'm doing a search it really isn't on. Info leaks into a Incognito mode session, though I doubt it leaks back out.
I like the feature, but was left red-faced by it just last week.

No really, no.
When the bars are separate, I can type something into the search-bar without it betraying my previous browsing history.
When they are the same input element, one opens oneself up to failures like I did last week.

Hmmmm. 
Since the lounge has the KSS rule, I wont go into much detail.
I enjoy many things unconventional - be they movies/music, women or lifestyle choices. The pursuit of said interests takes me to many less-travelled places in the world - both physical and virtual. Of relevance in this instance, is my interest in women that are similarly broad-minded and are happy to eschew some of mainstream society's conventions with regards to personal grooming.
So anyway, I was searching for a datasheet for a 1/2 wave rectifier with a fella I do some work for. Not thinking, I started to type in "half wave rectifier" - it would have been fine if only I'd used numerals instead of words, or typed the third letter a bit faster.
Oh well, can't lose 'em all!

Cool. Did you do an "in place upgrade" or a "new install"? If an upgrade, how'd it go? Did you have VStudio installed and did it survive the upgrade? Any other notable apps and their survival rate?

In place upgrade on both my machines. One was via the web download, one via an iso. Both very smooth.
VS 2013 never skipped a beat. Even Start8 survived (and makes Win10 even nicer!)

When I use the local cash machine I am presented with a screen which gives me a number of options
1. Cash only
2. Cash with receipt
3. Cash and on-screen balance
4. etc
So why is it when I select CASH ONLY the very next screen asks me if I want to "check my balance for free". Of course I elephanting don't, otherwise I would have selected the elephanting cash and balance option. Don't even get me started on the fact they use the word 'free' as if I should be grateful that they won't charge me to look at my own money.
Then once I select the amount of cash I want I am prompted with "Do I want a Reciept? Yes or No" . You elephanting no I don't want a receipt because I didn't elephanting press the Cash with receipt option. In fact I pressed the Cash only option because I specifically didn't want a receipt so why are you winding me up by asking me for something you know I don't want?
Imagine having this conversation with a shopkeeper every day
shopkeeper "Morning Sir would you like Bread or milk?"
me "I'll just have milk please, don't bother with the receipt"
Shopkeeper "No problem Would you like Bread as well?"
Me "No just the milk please"
Shopkeeper " Do you want a receipt?"
me *bitch slaps the shopkeeper*

Perhaps the coder is too low in the hierarchy to take such decisions, and is just listening to orders from above.

I recently tried that with a project that I'm currently on. I was told that was the requirement and I could step down if I didn't agree with it.
Fortunately it will only annoy internal users with three levels of duplicated effort.

Yeah, I got away with that for about six months once, but I still had to implement the "feature" the client insisted on... and a monthly report on how much money the greedy money-grubbing client was stealing from his customers... in both US and Canadian dollars.

I have the same issue at the gas station. You have the option to select credit or debit before inserting the card and then it asks you which card did you enter.
