No. IE11 is still around - 11.0.10240.16384 on my PC.
And no. But I haven't used it for anything other than making sure my sites work.

I thought it was all about Edge, but now it seems like IE 11 is there or something and no one is mentioning Edge. Microsoft is supposed to be so great at Marketing and they always mess this stuff up.
Color me, totally confused by the Microsoft-Hype-Machine.

It will be dead eventually. But they need it to be there for some time for backward compatibility. E.g., Edge does not support Flash and Silverlight.

This is by design. The other browsers are moving in that direction too. The consensus is to kill plugins. Chrome has just dropped Silverlight I believe.

Oh, I know. I totally and completely agree with getting rid of plugins.
The point is that Microsoft's Shiny New Browser, Edge basically offers nothing innovative or wonderful except the __removal of functionality__. Now that's innovative.
Microsoft Mid-level Manager: We need ideas. We've got to do something big and innovative on this new browser thingy.
Microsoft Creative Consultant: How about the icon, we could do something amazing with the icon. (see the icon is only slightly different from IE and it's a deletion of a small portion of the IE icon)
Microsoft Mid-level Manager: What else you got?
Microsoft Creative Consultant: Remove Flash and Silverlight.

I've yet to use Edge and tbh I knew it would be too primitive to be my primary browser. But when Chrome first appeared it too was bare bones and "innovative." The innovation was (allegedly) speed and being bare bones!

It is blessedly free of SilverBlight. That does make me wonder if it's installed in the OS by default for use in IE/3rd party browsers or not.

It's the default browser.
You have to search to find IE
It is a little buggy ... but it is also quite quick and responsive

No, both IE and Edge are installed with Windows 10.
But I'm not sure if it's a clever ploy[^] to confuse users...

I used it to install Chrome (obviously)
As it's a development laptop I'll use it to check any web applications I build, but I don't intend using it for general browsing.
How do you know so much about swallows? Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

If you need it, IE11 is still included in Windows 10 under its usual folder (C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer, or C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer if you insist on the 32-bit version).
I'd use Edge, but not until I can figure out how to launch it by default in its InPrivate mode. You can do that with IE by changing its shortcut to include "-private" at the end of the command line, but I haven't quite yet figured out how to do that with Edge.
(Yes, I know you can use "New InPrivate Window" from its "..." menu after it's launched, but I want to launch it, by default, in that mode already)
