I wouldn't necessarily make that assumption. I watched Ken Burns' The Dust Bowl[^] a few weeks ago...and while perhaps sandstorms aren't exactly the same thing, it still gave me a new appreciation for the whole thing.
At least even if you just leave it there, snow will eventually melt...

Has anyone tried playing pacman on google maps yet? Also, there is com.google now which shows mirror image of google.

Yeah, but it still works in Africa at least. I found a lot of this stuff through mashtable this morning. We are already in 4 day weekend mode and then I discover time wasters. I don't think I would get anything get done today.

Well, I did love that com.google thing.  It was awesome, also that it shows everything as flipped horizontally. Although a few Unicode character problems were there. 
Although the actual April Fools product by Google was, Google Panda[^]. Mirror web page or pac man etc were not.

my favorite easter egg was when you were able to enter a route "The Shire" to "Mordor" in google maps. Google would return "One does not simply walk into Mordor".
It didn´t work on all languages though and I guess it is disabled by now.
