You assume right ... and what a great beer it turned into !
Last year I tried to brew a clone of Carnegie Porter 3,5% and it turned out well. Now it is all gone. I tend to like low alcohol beers.
I'm getting really nice beers with little effort. Thanks !

I don't have a lot of artistic creativity, so I haven't really "created" much. I did build some model cars, but only to put the zillions of parts together. Never made them.
I've always found that I was better at destroying disassembling things, not creating them.

You're right. Most developers I know are 'makers'..those that love to build something.
My latest is a 500 sq ft garage apartment that is ultra efficient. It's really nice to go out after a day at the office and pound some nails.

Apart from the usual Cooking, DIY, car maintenance, model aircraft/helicopters from scratch etc, I have a lathe and milling machine with keeps me happy in the basement. My biggest problem in life is normally how I can find a local source for inconel 713 and shape it without trashing my bits. When I was 8 years old I also learnt to mind read. When my dad's hand appeared out from under a car I always had to predict the correct tool before any colourful language would appear. It must be in the family 'coz my 13 yo daughter asked me the other day if she could borrow a roll of 36-Gauge copper sheet I had laying around. Though still not sure if she wants to be a lawyer, a dentist, an engineer or a physicist. Oh crap! Don't tell me she's going to be an artist.

When my wife was expecting we had a 400 euro bet with her whether we were going to have a boy or a girl. I lost the bet but my daughter still likes everything I do ... action movies, basketball, football (that's soccer for some), etc etc. The only thing my wife gets to do is shop for teenage clothes.

No single type of thing in particular but definitely enjoy making physical things in the real world vs. just software. So, metalwork, woodwork, auto repair and any other equipment (garden and farm tractors, attachments, etc), home remodeling stuff (tiling, wiring) and landscaping. I find though it's mostly just thinking about and designing in past years as with having small children there isn't too much time. . .but getting better. Wish I had more time!

That's the big similarity between carpentry and software development: the more time you spend working out what to do and how to do it, the easier and quicker the actual work is.

There are various versions of such a thing. Many of them are designed to activate only when the AC is running, either by a relay attached to the 24 volt flow to the AC control mechanism or a device that trips a switch when the flow of air out the top of the AC blows up a paddle.
Mine is a simple PVC structure with strategically placed misting nozzles and a constant water supply. Yes, I know a waste. Which is why I discontinued using it until I automate the water flow.
Efficient? Dunno. I haven't worked on any figures for it since Texas summers are so variable.

I built a deck on my first house, a kids playset (from wood that I cut and drilled holes in myself, not just assembled something all ready to go) at my second house, and installed hardwood flooring and new kitchen cabinets in my current house. So pretty much stuff with wood. If I could get the same pay (and cooperation from my employer), I'd love to alternate between software development and housing construction (maybe 4-6 weeks of development and 2-3 weeks of construction). I feel like my brain would be in better shape.

photography, chain mail, woodworking, auto repair, old house repair, ...
I think I enjoy photography the most because I can do it as pure creativity at the click of a button. Chain mail's pretty fun too because of the three dimensional puzzle aspect. I've also tried my hand at drawing and sculpture, and while I've done some passable stuff with both, I didn't enjoy them as much as photography as a creative outlet.
We can program with only 1's, but if all you've got are zeros, you've got nothing.

I have a small non-cnc milling machine and lathe from Sherline[^] and I make latches, handles, car parts, etc. out of metal.
I also work on cars as needed - have a 4-wheel brake and rotor job to do this weekend.
My favorite non-computer work is cutting, trimming and felling trees. It is hard and sometimes dangerous work that I have enjoyed for years, and can make some good money at as well.
