Are you sure you're not thinking of lawyers rather than doctors?

I would agree with you but then we both would be wrong.

Pretty much as modern as medicine gets.

Actually you do see modern doctors using leeches these days.
They have found that the anesthesizing characteristics of the leech's mouth can help in some specific instances.
See the following link:

and you can do a Google search and find many more.
So maybe there is a case for doing this work on an XP machine for this particular developer!

SharpDevelop 4 will run on a 7 year old XP machine (it's what I've got it installed on). I'm not sure if it lets you build and test web apps as easily as VS, but it should certainly be possible, as in the end they're just .Net assemblies and all the libraries you need are in the Framework.

Yes...
1) Go rent a Virtual Private server with Windows Server 2008 onwards. make sure the data centre is a local to you as possible.
2) Remote Desktop
3) Install software as needed.
4) Regret paying for remote server
5) buy new computer
6) Repeat step 3 on new computer... painful.
but it is possible

Hey Mike,
A few months ago I had to program a real-time clock in ATMEL assembler, but the teacher never really looked at it and therefore never provided me with a feedback. An assembler real time clock would probably cover a lot of beginner topics in Assembler, and therefore I'm currently thinking about writing an articcle on this topic. IIRC you are quite familiar with Assembler, and I would really appreciate it if I can get you to look over my existing code in order to ensure that it doesn't contain any major flaws.
cheers,
Marco

Sure Marco would be happy to look at your code.
There are a couple of articles on my site that may help you also;

AS it's borderline NSFW, I won't post a link. However, at the end of that clip it was suggested I may want to view a similar clip involving a young lady by the name of Anastasia Sokolova [search youtube if you want] demonstrating her ample skills at pole dancing. :woof:

Crikey! I almost wet my pants laughing at that. I vaguely remember watching that episode, too, back when it was current.
