Me neither. I came through uni just before it became a Thing, so I didn't sign up there, and then it was for students after I graduated, and by the time it became open I knew I didn't want it. I guess there are probably quite a few 30-31 year olds in the same position.

Yep. I went and found the "download a zip file of everything I've ever posted to facebook" feature, did that, then did a full delete of the account.
I think they had a one week lag time before they'd confirm deletion for you to sign back in and reset the clock.
I did it.. I think a year and a half ago or something. I sure miss the extended family pictures. But... meh. That's about it.

I was going to do that but my wife wanted it to look up old friends and didn't want to create her own account (very sensible).

I'm not a big fan of FB, however every once and a while it does prove to be useful. Found out today that a friend passed away over the weekend. Not someone I frequently see any more so it otherwise would have been a long time to find out otherwise.
Common sense is admitting there is cause and effect and that you can exert some control over what you understand.

I just deactivated my account for few days.

It's never really gone. Even deactivated, it's a click away. The only thing that you can really change is your own behavior.

I didn't deactivate it, just never used it, until I realized that most of the news about my family from my family was first reported on one of their walls, so I now at least check it regularly to make sure my family isn't doing anything too gloomy (I mean you, stepson!)

Yes, you can have an unauthorized day off.
But, some seniors didn't want to take ideas from the juniors. And, at the end of the day, they will come with the idea (which is the junior's idea) and someone will take the credit. 
Don't mind those people who say you're not HOT. At least you know you're COOL.
