I'll never forget hearing Deep Purple at Fillmore West on November 30, 1968; also on the bill was one of my favorite groups, It's a Beautiful Day. I had just come back after forty-seven days at sea on a back-and-forth from Oakland, California to Da Nang, Vietnam on a refrigerated tractor-trailer carrying ship taking 292 containers of frozen vegetables, meat, picnic meats, etc. to the US troops (couldn't have our soldiers eating rice too often).

Both good groups but never got to see either one and I might have received some of the goods you were shipping as Da Nang was our closest supply point. We were very far north, about 7 miles from the DMZ so we didn't get a lot of creature comforts but when we did we appreciated the hell out of them thanks to guys like you. Thanks

The various naval forces in the world have the ability to accurately track a nearly silent submarine, yet the location of an actively pinging black box cannot be pin-pointed by that same equipment? I call bullshit.
"We could hear it but can't find it"? Seriously? All passive SONAR equipment keeps logs of signals in terms of strength and vector. A single ship can triangulate on a noise spike by simply traveling in a straight line at a constant speed for 10 miles or so. There's NO WAY they can't find it if it's under water. I used to track subs for a living. I know how that stuff works.

ended blowing the whole table away. Talk about blowing your feet off
I know, I know it should have been AND not OR, it is too late now.
