rather than being a smarmy git, why not answer the question or just don't respond at all ?
Possibly because he wanted to warn you that all of that's gonna get completely ignored once he gets his tablet. That's pretty much what happened when my sister's ex gave one to his kid (he's 9). He also used to spend a lot of time playing cards and traditional board games with his grandparents--now his attitude is pretty much to hell with them, unless he forgets to bring it.

I bought my brother an HP Slate 7. Lovely little device. He put it in a draw to mature for a few years while he sends his 10 year old PC out to be 'repaired' by the local 'little man in the shop'.
That will save him from upgrading windows for almost a month.
You can lead a twit to a tablet, but in the end they really should have had the mountain bike.

Here[^].
Like it?
And the first person to guess how I made this gets an upvote.
EDIT: I used The Powder Toy[^] to create this.
I used FIRW to create the color and had the game in persistent mode.

You dropped your new box of colour toner cartridges onto the carpet.

Funny, but no. It is CG.
Still, you get an upvote for making me laugh.

It is hideous. I happen to love my eyes and would prefer keeping it out of sight. BTW, I think this is something to do with not a professional image processing code.

The catch-phrase "bit salad," used in the early days of so-called "desktop publishing" by graphic designers who were horrified by the pixellacious monstrosities cranked out by the barbarian hordes of the Cult of Mac storming their citadels of narcissism ... comes to mind.
Or, maybe, the inside of a mind on bad acid at a death-metal concert, as the lateral geniculate nucleus is fried ?

Nice!
But there is a problem. Look at the 8451 pixels from the left and 1244 from the top, that pixel seems out of place. I think it should be an easy fix.

I really like Windows 8. It has made me more productive at work, and is more intuitive to use that earlier versions of Windows, or Max OS or Android or Ios.
It looks and feels like a grown-up operating system and, as a developer, features such as opening the desktop with no 'hourglass' when I run some apps and just opening full screen for others opens some doors for us in product development.
The ease of use whether using keyboard/mouse or touch screen or a combination is so intuitive that our users don't even notice the transition and never have problems accidentally scrolling when they meant to swipe to close, or have issues trying to position the mouse in the corner of multiple desktops!
Well done Microsoft - this is the future of the desktop and the tablet, rolled into one.

I agree that it is a step forward. Most people resist change so anything that is different is automatically bad for them.
It only took me a day or two to get used to the look and feel.
I must admit that I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts to avoid mouse clicks which probably made the transition a little easier.
I am on Windows 8.1 now and like it even more than Windows 8.
Try Windows 8.1 if you can.
I know you are joking but I am not. It really is better.

I just upgraded by Win 8 to 8.1 and so far so good.. though I need to actually work with it to understand it better...

I tried it for a couple of days too, but I couldn't get used to it.
However, I'm open to be convinced and it will be very nice if you could give some specific points on why and/or how exactly is it better when compared to Windows 7.

and click into it, I have it set as a toolbar on my desktop taskbar
I forget where I got it from so I cannot give credit to the right person but worth passing on
