OH! Now I know what you're talking about. Yeah, that's a great feature. It can also generate structure members and enumeration members.

Right on! Yeah, I use it a lot. Especially when I'm starting something for the first time, because the structure isn't really in place yet. It's simpler than typing the entire method name + parameters twice. Haha.

Tis not just you, but I have a problem as I use a number of different IDEs and not all have the same keyboard behaviour - so it can be a pain in the proverbial, forcing me to mouse up.
I think in video tutorials they often use a mouse so the viewer can see that they are doing something - otherwise things can happen seemingly magically unless they tell you what keys they pressed.
Biggest keyboard issue between IDEs that I have is usually Ctrl-X or Ctrl-C to cut or copy ;
in VS it will cut or copy the entire line when there is no text selection. This seems to be true of few other IDEs (AppCode is the only one I use that allows it)
I use this lods of times a day - and find myself trying to do it in Word and other programs too as it is immensely useful.
II know it is possible to customise the keystrokes of most decent IDEs - but that can cause an issue especially with those I am less familiar with - as turning to the interwebs for help tends to elicit the 'just press Ctrl-Space dot K-P star' response - which if I have changed my mappings will probably do something entirely unrelated!
ON that note, I wish all debuggers would use the same keys to run, step into out of etc.!

Well after months and months of applying and waiting, I was accepted into the Google Glass developer program. Ordered the (way too expensive) Google Glasses tonight and should get them in a week or so.
Will have to put up an article when I get them. I have a very interesting application in mind, have just been waiting for some good HUD glasses to become available (also ordered the Recon Jet[^] glasses but they are behind on the target ship date).
When is Google Glass ever going to be available to the general public to buy and use?
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.

Hopefully soon, the price of these things is ridiculous, they need to get them out to the general public so they can come down a bit. I have a customer who wants me to develop an oilfield application for these, and I have a really cool project for pilots.
You'd think with the amount of advertising they are doing they would release a public availability date...

Do they have a tiny USB connector on them? How do you load apps?
The difficult we do right away...
...the impossible takes slightly longer.
Yeah, they actually have a micro usb connector on them, it doubles as the earbud connector[^] (and yes, the ear bud is usb).
Why do they need to do that when they can sell them to mugs developers at inflated prices?

If anyone, anywhere, wants to get me a birthday present that is #1 on the list.
I swoon merely thinking about the awesomeness that is the Recon Jet.
(Now if only they provided a guarantee it'd make a good a rider as Hincapie...)

I have the Recon Mod setup on my Ski Goggles. It is ace, the only problem is on days I don't want to wear goggles, maybe need to invest in some jets as well
It certainly a damn site cheaper than the Google Glass (x 3) that are currently available on Ebay! And they wont even open up the dev access to non-US

One of the products I'm working in is up your alley Dave. Its a HUD for drillers, the people commissioning the project want to demonstrate it at OTC in Houston next year.
Sound cool, what area is it targeting? Is it for use by the driller in the doghouse, or on the rig floor, or by the company man sat in his office?
Any of those really, but what we wanted to do was to let the driller focus more out the window than down at instrumentation. We also want to get to the point where we can give a pair of glasses to other hands (like up on the monkey board) so that if there is a problem he can just turn the camera on and let video stream to somebody who can help.
The company I contract to does (among other things) drilling instrumentation, like full auto-driller packages so they are just wanting to integrate a lot of that into the newest thing out there. They want to display things like ROP, mud flows, standpipe pressures, etc and have them pop up when they are critical.

I have the Jet on order, and I wanted to use them for a product demo in a trade show in May, but they are having production issues or something and have pushed back delivery to around June.
Last week they had a sale on them, $100 off retail, too bad it was vaporware
Why don't you just buy the standalone Recon Mod Live unit and retrofit it onto a pair of safety glasses or a visor for a mockup purpose...
I did look at that but I was expecting to get the Jets in plenty of time for the show, they just recently cancelled and now I have the Google Glasses I don't have to rig anything up, better to have a professional product for the show than something glued together
