If you're talking about "free" as in "no limitation", then I'd like to point out that some products that are legal in Amsterdam would be considered illegal outside of the Netherlands.

Nagy Vilmos wrote: Europe also allows the freeh movement of people so any European can live and work anywhere which annoys Dave - that is a good thing.
Is is the free movement of labor, annoying DD, or both that are good things?
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

problem is, even if you speak mandarin, and Chinese government grant you passport + free tickets to/from China/home every few months - still you won't go as you can't get paid like a decent human being - Asian firm's golden formula is still "Cheap Labor" (Guess the only exception there is Japan but they have been stuck in sh*t for most part last two decades)

yes, two way movement.
developed countries <-- Cheap goods <-- China/India
developed countries --> Jobs --> China/India
But I don't think it concerns us - my open source friends tells me Open Source will win/dominate the world and eventually software will all be free and I will eventually become BBQ vendor beach some place sunny selling roast chicken and beer. Future is bright.

EG? That's me!
Searching Dante's Inferno for the words "Guelph" and "Ghibellin" turns up a 1:2 ratio, both found in Paradiso; I'd have to conclude that labor is only 33 percent part of any mentioning.
Adhere to the bon mot "What was true yesterday will likely be true tomorrow" and go about being industrious and everythiing'll be hunkydory.

Winner - Victor

snake - asp
not sure about the 'onge' bit (edit: anagram of gone)
Victoria Sponge has jam in the middle hence sandwich.

Can I get 28 small oblong guesses for this one please...
I will have the answer from 0 - 6 pips for each half guess I make. I will work with a strategy of elimination, all the wrong answers will fall over one by one like it is in a row.
