I bought a USB cable of equal quality - the package contained the cable and a mini-CD which supposedly contained the drivers! Needless to say, the disk was blank.

Hasn't turned out very well for me. The sound doesn't seem to work unless I put the phone in speakerphone mode. Though, I'm guessing that's the phone rather than the USB adapter. That'll have to be an adventure for another day.

Ron, an elderly man in Florida, owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back.
It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some orange and lime trees.
One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.
He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.
As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.
He made the women aware of his presence, and they all went to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"
Ron frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked."
Holding the bucket up Ron said, "I'm here to feed the alligator."
Some old men can still think fast.

Zombie Bacon[^]
How bad could it really be?

Pretty bad.[^] This looks like even bacon made from zombie pigs would taste better.

We get ours from Verisign. Where the company is located is of very little importance to us, with regards to buying certificates.

We buy from Thawte, which is either another arm of Verisign or they are closely related...I forget the specifics.

Ha.
Yeah, I'm not really sure if they are...maybe it's just that Verisign lets Thawte use their time stamping feature? I could be making it up, and am too lazy to google it.

After reading Nagy's recent post[^] I just had to drag out my Faulty Towers collection. Once again it reminds me of how incredibly brilliant and hilarious John Cleese was/is. I'm watching my favorite episode "The Germans" and although I've watched it dozens of times, it still is the most clever and funniest thing I've ever seen on television.
What makes it even better is I have the book[^] so I can follow along when the British accents get a bit thick. Thanks for the reminder Nagy, this is going to be a very cheerful day.

I always thought George Carlin was the funniest person on TV but I guess Cleese will do.

I have to agree with you, but only because of the different genre as a standup comedian. His "Hippy Dippy Weatherman" was brilliant. And his Carnagie Hall performance was superb.

Every line in that episode is a classic. And the fire drill scene was just insane.

Would have to agree: I cry with laughter whenever I watch any of the episodes: sheer genius.

Am I the only person getting sick and tired of an honest portrayal of reality being cast as a hate crime?
Why is it that when a person/group/country gets a negative reputation that it's everyone else's fault?
When did reality become a hate crime?
|
|
|
|
|
At the same time when people collectively became whiny egocentric brats who interpret everything (even (or, should I say, especially) reality) as a personal affront?
edit: this happened somewhere in the 80's, right?
