Life does not exist outside the sphere of bacon influence, therefore any life without it is obviously a figment of a deranged imagination. Who wants to be a figment, even - or especially - if it lasts longer?

The Telegraph wrote: Scientists added that people who eat a diet high in red meat were also likely to be generally unhealthier because they were more likely to smoke, be overweight and not exercise.
But lets blame it all on the red meat.
The Telegraph wrote: <layer>Dr Carrie Ruxton, from the Meat Advisory Panel (MAP), a British group of doctors and scientists funded by the industry, cast doubt on the findings and said the conclusions were based on a "theoretical" model"
She said that red meat is a valuable source of iron, zine and vitamin D which is vital for health, especially in pregnant women and infants.
Who would've guessed that the meat industry didn't agree?
It seems to me that this is a great example of what happens when there's a slow news day. Now if they could find a way to work in LGBT, Facsism, Republicans, The End of the World, and PETA they'd have the perfect non-news story.

So they followed people around for 28 years and asked them periodically about their lifestyle?
It's a good thing they weren't following any liars.
So if red meat leads to 1/10 early deaths, then 9/10 should worry about something else. Like what might happen to them if they take red meat away from people.

Today I just realized / finally agreed that perhaps MS is giving up on Silverlight and that the way forward for multi-platform rich web app is javascript (after all they making much javascript effort lately..)
Now I wonder.. if I want to develop a multiplatform (i.e. windows + mac) rich web app, I can use Silverlight, it's good! (but supposedly dead)
Or I can use Javascript.. but then I hit the nightmare of platform differentiation.. ho my app doesn't work the same on IE6,7,8,9,10, Safari (vXX), Chrome (17)...
(not too mention that our conservative corporation customer might have stuck to older browser version)
I still think Silverlight is the less painless just wonder how future proof it is... I guess it will keep working well for a long while...

I love early adopters, go for it, I'll stick with Silverlight for the next decade or so me thinks. When they have a stable standard and platform and a good LOB environment I'll look at something different.

I've really enjoyed them, although I didn't think tonight's was a very Gently story.
Mangan isn't chubby enough for me, which I can get over, but he is also far too neat in appearance which bugged me all the first but not so much this.
Both very well written though I thought.
