It's a conspiracy of lawyers; by keeping all the laws secret they ensure that we'll all have to hire them for every trivial decision. They get away with it because all the judges are lawyers, too.
In the US, though, we're a little bit luckier. All statutary law is required to be on public record, and these days that means it's available on the Internet. Case law - the kind made in courtroom decisions rather than by legislators - can be more difficult, but it's all out there. Some publishers collect Appeals Court transcripts and make them available online for a fee.

Where is that ??? If a law is not "visible" to the common man, than it has no legal ground; and evertytime someone gets cited (?) against that law, then it should must be invalidated by the courts.
Most civil and commercials laws are very (overly) complex, people tend to know the generics but not the details and because it's very complex people need to intermediaries to understand and mostly apply the differents article when doing mediation (which is the bulk of the work of lawyers).

It's still a conspiracy, as lawyers wrote those laws that way specifically to ensure that normal people have to hire them. There is no excuse for such complexity, and no law that cannot be written in such a way that any reasonably bright person can understand.

Couldn't agree with you more Roger. Law and accountancy are two self-perpetuating cliques that invest their activities with unneccessary complication purely to keep themselves in jobs.
To my mind the only 'profession' worth of the name is medicine. I would also make a case for Engineering, but apparantly the UK is alone in not considering this a profession for some reason.

You cannot. That's why things such as your right against self-incrimination are so important. Keeping your mouth shut goes along with that, because chances are you've committed some crime you didn't know about.

It's true, however, that most people in court, are in court for doing things that everyone knows are illegal.

After 3 1/2 weeks, I am in DFW, waiting for my flight home. This is the flight that's been having issues, the DFW direct flight, so what are my odds of getting home without incident ?

The flight has already been having issues, and on top of that you are travelling in it; I would say no chance of getting home without incident. Just kidding, have a happy journey home.

I consulted with my Magic 8-Ball to see if you'd get home without incident, it says "404 Answer not found".

Issues were found on previous flight, safety wise you have the best odds.
Issues wise, it's up to you
Very happy to see you back, my very best wishes to you and your wife.

What is it with people sucking up to Christian by upvoting a tediously dull twatteresque life blog post?

Why are you calling me a moron for refering to the Lounge, with all the posts made by people about their lives, in the assumption they are interesting to other people, as a blog?
Not only is it rude, its also inaccurate.
Is it part of your ethical morality to be so rude? I would have thought your inculcation would have said otherwise.

Hi Brother Dave,
Welcome to Apophenia, the higher-school for dyslexics ! I believe you are destined to graduate Magna Cum Pareidolia. As a rusted-near-shut drop-out from that gymnasium, we can only cheer you on.
