Flying Car[^]
I think it ought to be, but I also think anyone who bought it would be looked upon as not having enough to buy a plane and a car.
Like the Porsche Boxter, 'Oh, you wanted a Porsche but were too poor to buy a 911?'

It's definitely cool, however, I am worried about the maintenance schedule. Airplanes are required to get an annual inspection every year that runs about $1,000 U.S.D. and most small airplanes really don't fly that much, 200 hours is a lot for a non-flight school personal plane. Add to that the wear and tear of road and traffic and you have the potential to get a dangerous combination of poor maintenance and a lazy owner. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea but I run my tires on my car until they are bald and I will operate the vehicle with a strange noise hoping it works itself out. I call a mechanic for a second opinion when I notice a new dent on an airplane, however.

I have a device in my car that I can turn when weird noises eminate from the engine.
It is the volume control on my radio!

I call it "Michelle", and I can't find an off switch, or mute button.
Did you know:

Yeah, I have 'Michelle' too.
Chocolate helps.

Me too, only mine is badly configured.. Think it's something that involves the calibration of North, East, South and West..
BTW cool post.

I had a 'Michele', and even though the name was changed to 'Christine' (long story), I still couldn't find the volume control, mute button, or off switch. It thinks it's a combination GPS and driving instructor, despite an utter lack of qualifications in either regard.

Paranoia is a good thing during pre-flight. I'm squawck happy myself.

Your biggest worry is the maintenance schedule? Have you seen how people drive? Now put those same crazy idiots into the air...now THAT is scary...

Whenever I see an update on this thing, I think of James Bond... I can't remember which movie it was, but at the beginning of one of them, he does his usual beginning-of-movie action scene, escaping in a truck towing a horse trailer...
While on the road, he climbs from the cab into the trailer, and the (fake) horse prop folds away, and a little folding plane drives out the back of the trailer like KITT in Knight Rider... Flies off, escapes a couple missiles, then lands on a highway and pulls into a gas station... "Fill her up, please"... *main titles*

Brilliant. However, why were the 2 guards in the truck wearing parachutes???

No point giving them flotation aids like you get in an airplane!

'Oh, you wanted a real car but you bought a Porsche.'
FTFY.
Porsches are just 6 cylinder VWs. Real men drive Jags (but not the ones with the transplanted Chevy big blocks).

I was trained on them and had the pleasure of owning a few and I once drove a D-Type (only for a few hundred yards, I have to say). Best cars in the world, bar none.

XJ6 (two of them), XJS (V6 and V12) (two of them, one was a twin engined 6 Litre), S-Type (only 1).

Which S-type? Old or new? I prefer the new one (but only the 2000-2001 3 litre sport). Had one for a few years but (foolishly) sold it and bought a more 'practical' car. The XJS V12 was a bitch to work on (as was the E-Type V12) but the XJ6 was a decent enough car.

Ah women. Doesn't matter how big and tough you are, one word from 'er indoors and we turn to pussy-whipped jelly! I mean, I don't, of course...

Wow, I am now officially impressed.
I've somehow always associated "jaguar" with "so expensive you will never be able to afford one in your life". Maybe this is a wrong assumption.
