It occurs to me that it might be worthwhile for us to gather funds to donate for the installation of streaming video servers and cameras in the pubs Dave frequents. I believe that this would ensure an unending supply of entertainment on Fridays for all of us. We might even consider editing a "Best Of" video for publication!

Nice idea, however, I suppose joining him on Fridays would be more amusing...

In my experience "somewhere" is invariably the place with all the handpumps.

I noticed the quality of the Lounge posts is increasing again.
As it is an continuous uphill battle, we should all be grateful to Scotland and some other thereabouts.

I can't comment on the hats, but I can tell you that the Scots are the most miserly peasants on the planet. Furthermore, they always vote Labour (idiots), think deep fried Mars Bars are fine cuisine (heart attack victims), think the bagpipes sound good (tone deaf) and will quite happily draw the dole, live on council estates and otherwise be a bunch of useless wasters (until they get independence. I'd love to see Alex Salmonds' face when he finally realises what he's been fighting for).
In other news: c***s. Another naughty word.

They give what they get, I've found them to be great people.

If by "great" you mean "miserly" and by "people" you mean "gits" I heartily agree.
If you don't mean that, I'd recommend wearing a Celtic shirt in a Rangers bar just to see how "great" they are

A good movie. All I did not understand is why was it named like that?

Is it the same reason for an Indian calls himself Danish?

I don't know. Actually, Danish is not the word you are thinking it is. It is an Urdu word (the language Muslims speak). It isn't pronounced the same way as Danish as in "Denmark's" is pronounced.
|
|
|
|
|
Now I'm curious: what does it mean in Urdu?
BTW: Thank you.

It means wisdom or intelligence. And "da" is pronounced same as in Da Vinci Code while "nish" as in Nishant.

Thanks.
Being Italian, probably my pronunciation is already closer to the Urdu one.

Oh.
All this time, I thought you'd named yourself after a tasty pastry.
I'm so disappointed...
|
|
|
|

You have to say 'Daa - nish' (with d@ as in Daa and nish as in nish for Nishant as Danish already mentioned).
Hope that clarifies this further.

Because that's what the book it was based on was called. It wouldn't have made sense to call it Pride and Prejudice with zombies.

Thanks.
Generally books are better than the movies which are based on them. Going by that, I guess I am going read this book.

To answer your question, one of the titles Idi Amin awarded himself was King of Scotland. His full list was "His Excellency President for Life Field Marshal Al Hadji Dr. Idi Amin, VC, DSO, MC, King of Scotland Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular"

Interestingly, both Wikipedia[^] and IMDB[^] only show a (big) part of his title.
Do you have a more accurate reference, or were you sufficiently chummy with that chap to get it from the horse's mouth?
