Is that any tree sap, or specifically maple?

Got it - we buy Maple Syrup directly from the producers in New Hampshire.

Birch is used in a similar fashion to Maple. I'm pretty sure there are others that are used in cooking.

Hi All,
A question for Canadians is 'Gas N' Go' still a thing? (was it ever a thing?) A means of using RFID to at Petrol, Gas or general fuel stations I think. Back in the day (early 00's) Texas Instruments were making a thing over it when I did my 13.56 training, never heard of it since. I think my company could be using the same RF space and questions will have to be asked if its still a thing or otherwise. I think the right questions weren't asked at the time. (to avoid the FCC)

I have an RFID tag that says "Shell" on it. I used to be able to wave it in front of a gas pump at the Shell station and then start filling the car.
It was super convenient because their system remembered my credit card and Air Miles card. Which now sounds like a security nightmare.
Shell stopped supporting it ages ago (15 years maybe?) and we've also decided that Air Miles is no longer paying enough for our shopping data.
Was Gas N'Go a Shell affiliate?

Looks like Esso killed their version[^] of it as well:

We have a similar system in Israel, but I don't know the technical details (RFID? something else?). I do know that it is very short range - the receiver is on the pump's nozzle, and it won't work unless the nozzle is in the car's fuel thingy (technical term ).

Didn't know about Israel. The thing is R&D have created a system following a standard (no specifics, lots of hand waving!), sounds like the system in Israel is using NFC (Near Field Communications). I think R&D has got a system for NFC which uses bit of RFID and has got blurred vision.

Cannot say I've ever seen that. Now they have tap panel right on the gas pump - just tap a credit or debit card and get authorized for $100. Start filling up right away. Some places have started bumping up the authorization amount, as some cars need a lot more than $100 CDN to fill the tank...
