Not sure how to read and/or interpret your sentence... but for sure... the English term "termite" translates into the Italian term "termite". They are pronounced differently, but the two words refer precisely to the very same thing - an insect...

Termite in italian is also the explosive Termite (miscela incendiaria) - Wikipedia[^].
Since it was capitalized it couldn't be confused with termite as the common noun.

I used HyperTerminal, PuTTY, Termite and others, in the end got fed up and rolled my own. The install free peaks my interest no need for admin rights? and it handles interrupts with out the HAL getting in the way... tell me more!

No current need, I have been using Putty to connect to my OpenVMS systems most recently.
How about logging and slow text file send?

Termite is good, but when used with tree controls.

If you want something slightly more advanced I strongly recommend "PComm Lite" from MOXA.
It's free and can do much more, including TCP/IP.

Is is just for COM ports? Does it do file transfer (hyperthing type) stuff? Guess I should try it and stop wasting your time.

...so I'll need a Windows version to replace it. The current system is brilliant - real paper cards, colour coded for category and actual sticky-up tabs for a very short description. Simple, fast, and I've been using it for more years than I care to remember, but I've run out of blank cards, and the ones in use are seriously tatty. The real kicker - I started using it when the digital freebie with Windows 3 (3.1?) disappeared!
Anybody out there know of anything that simple? Just colour coded cards and sticky-up tabs are the prime requirements, but my Google-fu hasn't found anything yet, and I really don't want to roll my own if I can help it.

Just dug up an old laptop - Lenovo T510i... It is from 2011 and the only modification is maxing out the memory.
Still had the original Win7 pro on it with Office 2013 and was practically useless even for student use...
I wiped it clean and installed Mint with LibreOffice and now it is a pretty usable computer that probably has an other decade in it...
I just realized how easily we throw out old computers instead of throwing out the software...

I have an old Asus laptop with Windows 10 that I try to keep up to date, but when not used on a daily basis it's practically useless because of the constant updates (Windows, Edge/Chrome browser etc).
