If it does not have an awning get a different model. We did 3 weeks in Queensland and when it rained or was really bright you are confined to the van, an awning makes a vast difference.
I found the mercedes sprinter version very easy to drive, parking was a challenge.

Mercedes Sprinter yay! One of our local RFS brigades has one as a personnel carrier. 4WD, minibus configuration. Surprisingly capable offroad in 4WD, easy as on the highway. And I have half a dozen witnesses to the awesomeness of the ABS brakes when an eejit pulled out under my nose. Only the guy sitting beside me could see him; the others just strained their seatbelts (with an unspoken chorus of WT![Elephant | [mastadon]](https://codeproject.global.ssl.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/elephant.gif) ).
You can appreciate why there are so many of them on the road.

We just drove a thousand miles in one of these. It's like trying to drive a whale. A noisy whale. A thirsty, wriggly, saggy, wandering noisy whale.
It was, however, awesome being able to take food, loo and nap breaks anywhere you wanted to, especially in COVID times. No having to (shudder) talk to people.

If you're using chrome, there's an extension called 'Disable HTML5 Autoplay'.
It helps making many sites less intrusive.

Could any of you recommend a good library and examples to interface CAN with .Net - so far Google is kicking up Kvaser and Pcan, but I suspect there is better out there. Ideally I would like to be able to troubleshoot boards

Usually I get this from my PLC and given I usually use Beckhoff devices, I can interface any communication, variable... from the ADS protocol (which is natively available from the PC as a DLL, OCX, ...), that, of course gives me access also to CANOpen if that is on the machine.
I am super curious about this now... could you give more details? or share the final decision when you have it?

Hi Joan, Its for my Model Railway. I'm also waiting to hear from my colleagues in MERG on this. I already have the CANUSB board and a couple of modules that are not doing their thing. I want to be able to at least monitor them and maybe even dictate to them as I learn more.

Yes, but it costs several thousand dollars and you don't want to end in the V***or business model, trust me.
Pcap is the cheaper one and the one I would go for home projects, Kvaser has the advantage of being actually used by a sizeable (as far as I know 10%, which in a otherwise monopolistic environment is a lot) amount of OEMs including Ferrari.
There should also be some free native library, with a few pinvoke you should be able to use them easily. For troubleshooting I would go to suites designed for that, and Kvaser has one (again, you don't want CAN***zer unless you want to spend thousand of dollars and be tied for life to Vek***).

Also does it follow the book reasonably well?

I liked it - but that's no recommendation, just ask Herself...
It followed the book as well as these things can: some things just don't translate well from print most of of it did. And a few "good bits" were left out, probably for space (or not to confuse the watcher).
