Thanks. Unfortunately, Edge hates me and it doesn't work as it should for me.
I created a shortcut on my desktop and used that for the link. When I double-clicked it, Edge opened up. All the old tabs were there, and the 'about::blank' page also got added to the tabs. Then Edge opened me up to a bare google search page! It figures you will always want to search for something when you first open it, but that's not what I want! I haven't been able to find a place to disable that 'feature.'

Oh, well I tend not to use that sorry excuse for a browser, but I have to for a few things at work.
Check Settings \ On startup.

I don't use it much either. For reasons like this not being on the Settings \ On startup page.  (not rolling my eyes at you, but at Edge... )

There is a setting "edge://settings/onStartup" (my version is 91.0.864.54) and after setting it to "Continue where you left off" it seems to work ...  . Perhaps this will solve the issue ...

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that setting should do exactly what I want. But that's what's been set for the last however long. It always opens to a Google tab instead of whatever I last viewed, although the last used tabs are there.

Indeed, it looks so easy, I am astonished that someone made it that simple. Diving deeper here is not my cup of tea , I must admit ... except a typical thought that it needs some sort of reset/restore/reinstall ... BR

Thanks. The installer path has changed, but I worked that out. After playing with it, I finally figured out the problem - it was an extension the entire time! At least I figured it out, but I still feel a tad foolish for posting!

I just downloaded the 2022 preview of Visual Studio and noticed it installed in the Program Files folder, not the Program Files (x86) folder like all earlier versions. So this must be the first native 64 bit version of VS. Nice! What took you so long MS?

Cadbury has somewhat recently changed their ads.

I noticed and reckoned I knew what their angle was. Dad noticed too - but climbed up the mountain from a different angle and thought they'd made a mistake. :oops: :haha: When he called em to point it out, she explained that the saying was no longer referring to the blocks of chocolate, but were instead now talking about the consumers.. (because they've shrunk the blocks so much that there is in fact, not that much milk in em)

Several years ago, I worked on a project where a few modules had to be built/maintained in Visual C++ 6.0. Always blew me away how fast it was.

It was blazing fast, indeed.
Chrome is fast. Visual Studio is slow. Eclipse is still starting.
