I'm highly disappointed. When I was a kid in the 1960s, Sony was more or less built by introducing new technology to the world. Transistor radios, the Sony walkman, some very good quality audio equipment (aka "Stereo"), tape recorders, video devices, etc.
Over the years, Sony has become a major player in the evil empire. They are one of the main supporters of DRM, spyware, stupid copyright laws; They build root kits into their software. Google's motto is "don't be evil", apparently derived by looking at the actions of Sony, who seems to be at the forefront of all of the evil things on the internet.
I bought my last Sony product more than a decade ago.
I'm retired. There's a nap for that...

I expect they - all the big names in the business - are all much of a muchness in that regard. Anyone wants to be that virtuous, they're probably best off not buying a TV at all...

Sony used to be the best TV's (back in the days of the big glass tubes), and most of their high-end stuff was made in Japan including the board, PSU & wiring - it was quality.
Now just like pretty much everyone else they just put a Samsung LCD panel in a Chinese box with a Chinese circuit board + PSU and just plug the already fitted cables together. The only thing they still do a bit better is the translations of the user manual.

Sony's turn to the dark side has a reasonably sharply delineated time frame.
Their early game console, unlike everything else they made up to that time, often would magically die in about a year.
By then, the owner had invested in a number of their game cartridges. Rather than lose the much large investment in the cartridges, they bought another console. And another

Don't forget the removal of features. My folks have a 3D Sony TV. There was a section in the menu that let you view sample 3D videos, streaming from the net. After less than 2 years, that was gone, after a software update. Think you can roll back to a previous version?
A coworker had his Sony TV die on him, of course, a few days after the warranty ran out. All that was needed to get it fixed was to replace some small 8$ chip. The chip was no longer available. He had to trash the TV.
I also remember something about being able to run some Linux distributions being sold as a feature of the PS3 (2?) console. They removed that as soon as people found some flaw that let them use that feature to copy discs (or some other excuse I'm forgetting the details of).
Don't forget how the PlayStation Network, a service people pay for, got repeatedly hacked a few years ago, until they took it offline for over a full month. Then the supposed China hack, in which they got TBs worth of data exfiltrated over the course of months.
If someone wants to buy a Sony product, I won't keep them from it, but I, too, have made my last Sony purchase well over a decade ago.

I have started a side project that I am trying to get some buzz about. It is going to be open source so hopefully people besides me will be working on it at some point. The website will be a place for people with autism to practice their verbal and written communication skills. The link is to my Facebook page where I give status updates and ask people questions. I just wanted to share the link so people outside my circle would see it.

Aspie Software is just the name of the company. The program is meant for high to middle functioning autistic people. I don't think the program would help low functioning autistic people but it may once I get it done.

The site will be for high functioning autistic's. I have a real problem with both verbal and written communication and this was something I am going to use. Figured I wouldn't be the only one that would benefit from it. I know you took back the comment but just wanted to reply.
