"I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible."

Three year warranty, and all the destructive testing I've seen say it will in normal operation outlast the lappie it's in!
The old HDD is three years old, and has physical problems, probably from her just shutting it and moving it too much before it's stopped hibernating. Being an SSD, it shouldn't have that problem. And the price difference at the moment is pretty small: her HDD was a 480GB (with 120GB used) and the SSD is the same size.
To replace the HDD with the same was going to cost about £45, the Sandisk Ultra II SSD was £90.
And it's lower power, so battery life goes up by ~15% apparently.

That's good.
In my experience, the HDDs are very reliable devices. I still use some very very old ones.

They can be very robust - but they will fail: bearings wear out, servos loose accuracy, heads crash. And the old ones seem to be more reliable than the new in my experience. Probably because they spin faster, fly closer, and pack data more densely.

You are not confusing it with a model helicopter?

This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

Speaking of backing up - I'm training flying backwards now. For the time being only with the simulator because I still struggle too much with not steering as if I was flying forwards.
