The Dausage is a cross between a sausage and a doughnut. It is a succulent meat sausage, filled with different varieties of jam (or if you are from the US, jelly!) and other doughnut-like fillings.

That statement could do with some geographic expansion. 
But as with everything there are exceptions, I've eaten very good in the UK, most specifically in Betws-y-Coed, but also elsewhere.

No the best Fish'n'chips comes from Geos Fish Bar, Clacton-on-Sea.  The best I've ever had.

I stayed in Betws-y-Coed one New Year and the food, though good, was not especially good. Then I've also eaten some rather poor meals in London and Paris, so it isn't the place but the cook.

There is excellent food most places: it depends on the chef and the ingredients.
I've eaten well in Wales, London, Paris, even in Dusseldorf (though that did take some serious effort to find). Heck, I've eaten well in Dallas! I've also eaten cr@p in all those places.
But...I've never had bad (or even average!) food in Thailand, Malaysia, or Singapore. Even the street food has always been orders of magnitude better than the "fast food" in any western country I've been to.

Reminds me of last years vacation at Balaton, where street vendor food was generally better than at the tourist traps.
With one bright and shiny exception in Tihany. But it also cost four times as much. 
Let's see how Tuscany treats us this year.

The difference between tomato ketchup and jam is really rather insignificant! Redcurrant jelly has been served with game for centuries and mincemeat was originally exactly that ... all the fruit and spices of the current product plus minced beef. Ham and bacon are both cured with maple syrup, marmalade, etc. So what's new?

Yes, meat has been served with fruit sauces, but they are more like chutneys, than a jam.

Main ingredients for both are fruit and sugar.
Not sure I want to try the dausage, but there are plenty of recipes out there that combine meat and sweet.

There is sugar in a chutney but no where near as much as in jam. And of course the vinegar, and vegetables often found in chutneys.

People in the US already eat sausage with jelly so I don't see the big deal. For example, have a breakfast with sausage, eggs, and toast and you end up mixing some jam in with the rest of the food.

Depends on the jam I guess - Pork and apple go very well together, as do apricots and cranberries.
In the Elizabethan era, the use of spices and fruit in savoury recipes was very popular!
But to my palate "Jam" implies "Strawberry" and I'd no sooner touch a sausage stuffed with strawberry jam than I would a deep-fried mars bar!
