We all know about the Nigerian scam, but today I got a new one that really made me ! Maybe you've seen it already, but it was new for me.
First of all, the subject was just: 'POLICE.' And was supposedly from: 'The Nigerian Police Force'.
The motto was a nice touch: 'Motto : To Serve And Protect With Integrity'
A few excerpts:
'The Cyber Crime Division of the Nigerian Police gathered information from the Internet Fraud Complain Center (IFCC) and we found out that you have been dealing with scammers/impostors for the past few years now and further Investigation revealed that you have spent a lot of your hard earned money...'
'We are very sorry for any inconvenience...you should have reported the issue to the Nigerian police before you started sending money to scammers but not to worry, we are on top of the situation now.'
And, the scam:
'Meanwhile Your long overdue Inheritance fund is still available and will be released to you via the real Central Bank of Nigeria, as soon as we verify that all investigation and report about you been scammed is real, I will send you a protocol to contact Barrister Daniel Olamide, a well-respected attorney of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he will represent you and freely help you get all necessary documents to transfer your fund to your bank account under the watching eyes of the Nigeria police, the F.B.I and the E.F.C.C without any delay.'
And they finish off with: 'Remain blessed in Jesus name.' Just to let you know they are the 'good guys', I guess.
So, they are basically trying to find people who fell for the trick the first time, and trick them again!
As Shepherd Book would say, I wish for these people to 'burn in a very special level of hell'.
I have always wished for my computer to be as easy to use as my telephone; my wish has come true because I can no longer figure out how to use my telephone - Bjarne Stroustrup
The world is going to laugh at you anyway, might as well crack the 1st joke!
My code has no bugs, it runs exactly as it was written.

Is that somehow related to us being in big trouble if all the Pole's ice melted? And why do the Poles have so much ice?
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
I hold an A-7 computer expert classification, Commodore. I'm well acquainted with Dr. Daystrom's theories and discoveries. The basic design of all our ship's computers are JavaScript.

To turn the other cheek? I got a cheek for them but it's not the one they expect!

Heh, if I would respond (which is just "this email is active! spam me more!"), it'd be with Revelation 21v8, and "Ye fraudsters shall your place in the lake of fire."
To be honest, if someone loses money from these scams, they probably shouldn't handle money anyway.

It is a bit like these inexpendable "malware-removers" that you must install when your comp is infected.

I received an email from a pokerstars asking me to send them a scan of my passport, driving licence, household utility bills etc to verify my identity. upon reading the plain text email, it seemed like some kind of scam so I deleted it immediately, as who in their right mind is going to divulge such sensitive info I thought, especially as ive had an account with them for 8 years. As it happens it was a genuine request and the upshot of my refusal to comply meant they blocked my account and have banned me from the site lol, citing it as a 'Legal Requirement' so I cashed out my huge $72 balance. No-ones ive talked to about this would send anyone such sensitive stuff over the net, especially in an unsecured email, but plenty must be doing so as I don't see the site closing or changing its policy - BTW no other poker site has requested this and i've not been accused of any dodgy dealings such as money laundering - anyone any thoughts?

From their FAQ[^] it appears this is an Isle of Man requirement. Other sites may be governed by other nations.
Of course, I also would have cashed out instead of sending them copies of such documents.
