Beh. They're just search engines; all they do is create minimalistic reports on work that other people have done. I don't know when people started believing that that was more important than the work itself, but it's a mistaken belief.
They're easily replaceable, and would be quickly replaced (by organisations that pay their taxes, and therefore improve the welfare of our children).

Back in the day (before it was called "Visual Studio", even), the docs weren't too bad, but they must have hired a bunch of really incompetent technical writers to keep them going (going down the drain, that is).
What am I saying, "must have"? It's bleeding obvious that they hired incompetent technical writers, particularly at the senior levels.
Google doesn't make the content, though -- it doesn't do the work -- it just printfs a report on your screen, giving minimal details of pages that contain the work you need to see.
Any search engine can do that.

Whenever I try one of those "compare search engine" pages, I always end up selecting the response from Yahoo as the best one. Maybe it's time I actually started using it.

That would be preferable, but it's the one thing that you can guarantee ain't gonna happen.
Once these types get their hands on *free* *money*, there's no way in the world they will let it go, even if it means giving up their children as sacrifices.
A more functional solution would be to kick their arses out, and wait for them to come crawling back, cap in hand.

I remember being sceptical that there was anything Google could do that Yahoo couldn't, how things have changed.
I believe that at some [not too distant] point in the future, someone will come up with a better/faster algorithm than Google and they will take the traction out of Google's seemingless relentless advance. Facebook will definitely get butt-[REDACTED] soon with their constant ripping up of the rule book.

Hmmmm. I guess I wouldn't mind paying taxes if I knew gov't would spend it in lawful ways and responsible ways.
But that's off-topic, and yes, I agree the likes of Google, Apple, Microsoft, given that "we" the masses, pay taxes through our nose and other orifices, should act responsibly and pay their taxes rather than finding loopholes that only the corporate rich can take advantage of.
But personally, that's the only reason I agree, as I believe the entire system of taxation is incredibly corrupt in itself.

Our benevolent over-loads are tax lawyers who do this sort of thing for a living.
If they are getting caught off guard by Google it is because they're asleep at the switch.
Lawyers who do a lousy job protecting the interest of the people are attempting to make Google look like a criminal because Google is doing a better job of navigating the rules than the people who wrote them.
I say fine the lawyers.

Yes, they would. Try searching without it. Not fun. Also, Google creates revenue for other third party companies in the area.
Anyhow, I agree that any company, should pay their fair share of taxes, etc., just like everyone else; no matter which country they are located.
