Hi All,
Some regulars will be aware of a cluster elephant I have to fix. It seems that the powers that be have finally heeded my advice and have allowed me to rewrite it finally but I have to get something out by Friday (there goes anything I had planned for the evening this week). It's not my fault no one got back to me when I asked a question. Why...

Back in the early '90s, the company I worked out found out a competitor was bringing out a new product. They wanted to beat them to market.
I was asked if I could retrofit the system I supported to be able to able to make a new product and thereby beat the competitors to market... in 2 weeks.
I said, yes, it will require many extra hours, but, if I complete it, I want to attend an upcoming conference.
It was winter in Ontario and the conference was in San Francisco... nice climate change!
I busted my butt, completed and work and attended the conference. 20+ years later, I am working on the system the conference was for... worked out well for me.
