I knew you'd all be happy to hear of my trip and so here is the noise:
- Over two weeks, we covered 3,500 using 118 gallons at an average speed of 55 mph; or that's what the car says.
- Despite some creative use of Surface-to-Surface misiles, Peter[^] could not prevent my crossing Germany. Twice.
- There is no beer in Brugge; there was, but I visited.
- Ding-dong, fill in the song title.
- We have a new gardener, the last one died, who has promised to get the garden up to scratch for the summer.
So, anything happen here while I was I away?

I've just noticed that, after around 6 months of resolutely not working, my lappy's battery is charging. WOO HOO!

CodeProject.tv launched, the Hamster broke the majority of our profile pages and the team needed a day 'till they tamed them again.
Apart from that, the Intel Coding Challenge is finished, afaik we are waiting for the result of the judges.
And yeah, seems like you brought spring with you -

Thank you.
Yesterday in Calais it was 27°C; which was nice.

I beg your pardon but your knowledge of france is not optimal or you've been incredibly fast in traveling through it: nice and calais are two different cities quite far away one from the other

That's right - "Calais" and "nice" should never be in the same sentence, unless you have "leaving" before the first, or "not" before the second.

On monday morning, Carlo wouldn't even try to convert to proper (metric) units all these numbers.

I could use the calculator but, as it's Monday my brain is still a bit farty. 1000 miles in a day does that to you.

Don't worry there is beer again.
And we always have a emergency supply for when people like you visit so we'll survive

- There were a couple of Nagy jokes in the lounge.
- It was probably very calm in Hungary... we warned people.
- Some chap tried to drink the beer reserve of Bruge, but failed after half a pint.

So I read that as You have been out of work for 6 months and now your lappy is charging, trying to see the association between being unemployed and the lappy deciding to work and 6 months.
Just not there I'm afraid. BTW ARE you working at the moment?
