Ah, I had forgotten about Andreas Vollenweider, thanks for the reminder. I had encountered him first some, geez, 30 years ago?

I guess that must have been Caverna Magica, his first album. The worst thing about those 30 years is that it doesn't seem so long ago ...

Yes! It was "interesting" hearing a remake of at least one of those songs. I think I prefer the original, but maybe it's just because I've imprinted on the older version.

Is quite fun.
I am using it on one of my applications (using DevExpress WinForms controls), and so far so good. There are a lot of things that can be done with it. I am (kinda) addicted to using it.
Any tips/trick using it you guys would like to share?

I've not come across MEF. Can you post some links on the format capabilities?

Sure.[^] I'm not sure what you mean with "format compatibilities", but I assume they do have some dress code.
As for tips, it's probably best to be stationed in or near Istanbul, otherwise, the commute could become a drag.

And there was me misreading it as MILF.
I guess that rules out that format...

I'm using MEF as a DI container. It enforces me to write testable code.

I some how bit reluctant to use MEF as DI container for every possible thing. Remember The MEF man Glenn Block once said that ”you should use MEF to manage your unknown dependencies and an IoC container to manage your known dependencies.”
I still see most of them are using it as DI container (though it might work for you) than considering MEF as to handle the extensibility and plug-in capability of an application.

Sorry, I should clarify - I use MEF as a dependency resolver.

Don't use things because they are cool/fun.
Use them because they solve a business need AND because other solutions are less maintainable.

But... Investigate and analyse those cool fun things coming out of companies like Microsoft or Google because they indicate the direction of thinking and development of the next big business solution.
Getting your understanding up to speed early has enormous potential comercial value and it maintains your motivation to keep learning.

Plus when you realize how useless these technologies are, you are happy not to have to deal with it.

Nope.
If that were true there would be several more orders of magnitude of APIs and technologies available versus what is actually available.

Nope. Getting your sales up is the only thing that impacts commercial value.

Maybe. But human psychology is much more complex than simple one offs.

Been there. Done that. And per my results I was quite good at it as well.
Other than that did you have a point?

I downloaded / saved some video from YouTube with VLC, using the default format:
Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)
(And I named the file with mp4 extensions)
And then I copied them on my Nokia Lumia 920
I can see them (with a preview picture!!) in my list of video in the music application!
But when I try to launch them I got error: c00d5212! (whatever that means)
Well I guess I have a file format problem, but how come it successfully render a preview?!
And what format should I use then?

Maybe it's not a format problem. Maybe your device can't play that high of quality video (as one example of another error it could be). Or maybe it could decode the video stream, but could not decode the audio stream.
