I know from first hand that it is not easy to lose a valued companion. Sympathies.

It's terrible to lose a pet, but at least your family didn't let him suffer.

I feel your pain. I lost my dog 'Black' (killed by a car) when I was a child.
I hope you'll recover soon.

At least his namesake is well, although now 66, and still making movies. Maybe he will make another one.

I understand how you feel - we had to put our dog Belle down about 6 weeks ago. It was awful. She was 8 weeks old when we rescued her from an Amish puppy mill. She would have been 15 in 4 days. It just got to the point where her arthritis was so bad she couldn't sit down or stand up without being in pain.
The best thing we did was to start doing dog transports again - basically helping get a dog from a kill shelter to a rescue group. Funny thing though, the very first one we did, was another Norwegian Elkhound like Belle. We ended up adopting her last weekend. She is an older dog who was abused, but we will give her a lot of love and a good home for whatever time she has left.
Anyway, keep your head up, and trust me, it will get better with time.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart, and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms, and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” Rainer Maria Rilke

Hi All,
I have created an installer for my application when its run it comes up with Publisher Unknown.
Digging around on MSDN it appears to use a command SignTool, which I tried in a Console/Dos Window it comes back as "'signtool' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Or you have typed rubbish. Stack Overflow you need a code signing certificate which is available for $179 a year or $499. Is this right so do I send my flaming box of dog do to MicroSharft now or what?

I believe they provide a free one year cert for upstarts (DreamSpark or some other name).

We are not even a software house, just do a bit to interface to hardware. It looks like the Dreamspark thing is for students?

Something else Spark or Dream something.
You might be able to get a software cert somewhere else though (you dont have to go via MS, but you still use signtool).
Personally, I would not be bothered to even sign an installer. Heck I abandoned the installer all together and used created a ZIP file
|
|
|
|
|
But the client wants an MSI 'done properly' to avoid any problems

A valid cert from anywhere will be proper. As long as it can validate with the CA root, it is exactly the same.

Hang on I might have found something on Intel.....
