These remarks meant to apply to mass con$umer markets: tablets, smart-phones, netbooks, etc. Not to us, the cognoscenti, the hard- and soft- wares literati, who, just by virtue of being on CP, demonstrate common sense, good judgement, sound long-range economic planning for future hardware needs, etc.
And, of course, we always have a good business reason for early adoption !
Early adopters should expect to get $crewed royally.
Later adopters should expect to get $crewed commonly.

Woman Gets bill in the mail and gets a shocker.. yeah computing error but can you imagine the momentary panic?
Common sense is not a gift it's a curse. Those of us who have it have to deal with those that don't....

I'd be more worried about the FBI knocking my door down looking for a narcotics lab.

I'd rather get a bill for a million pounds than a thousand, it's obviously an error and therefore not worrying, whereas a thousand could be due to something that's actually your fault.

I am 100% sure that PETA, Anonymous, WikiLeaks, and the Ukrainian topless women's rights protesters Fremen are all involved with this.
Possible under-the-table financing for the renegade biological/genetic scientists behind this genetically modified tick from the late Steve Jobs (fruitarian, vegetarian, almost all his life), donations from artists such as K.D. Laing, etc.

I have experienced two pop-unders lately that make life more difficult than it has to be.
For one, Chrome likes to open under my other windows for some reason. That can be annoying, because browsers can take a while to open so I just sit there for a while until I realize it opened 10 seconds ago.
And I just installed an update to Nuget (which, by the way, eventually failed, leading me to have to uninstall and reinstall). I waited for 5 to 10 minutes looking at the install progress bar on my right screen while browsing the Lounge on my left screen. I eventually minimized my browser to notice that there was a dialog under it asking me to agree to license terms. Why the heck wouldn't that come to the foreground when I clicked on Visual Studio?

I don't know much about that.
All I've got is that if Netflix thinks I'm more likely to use their service because of all the popups they sponser - well, they just don't know me very well.

Yeah, that is annoying. I already have Netflix, so I get annoyed when I get ads for them (and I have seen the Netflix popups serveral times, not to mention cards I get in my physical mailbox).

I have had this happen with progress on several things. It gets me every time
If it moves, compile it

I worked on an application where we had problems with the pop-Unders. Not sure if I fixed the problem, was quite a few years ago. See them too often in some applictions. One of the worst offenders I have found is FreeRip.

I used some DVD software (I forget what it was called) a couple years ago that had an annoying popup bug. If the window happened to be minimized when the ripping was done, it would pop up a modal dialog that said "Complete", except it wouldn't show even when you clicked the window in the taskbar. The net effect was that the only way to close the dialog was to end the process.

E-mail from Spain: I made a quick trip to Madrid in Spain for a Volunteer Training Program (VTP),my bag with cash, mobile phone and credit cards in it were Stolen from me at the Hotel Park where I Lodged. I've made contact with my bank but they need more time to come up with a new one. I need you to lend me some money to sort my self out of this predicament, I will pay back immediately I get this over with. Right now I need about €1150 Euro which is to settle my hotel bills and other expenses. Please let me know if you can help me.
The poor guys. Just last week someone in exactly the same situation wrote me and asked for only €600. Is inflation that bad in Europe?

I agree. Waiting in hotel room for money that will never come is kind of boring, pay-per-view is the only solution.
