Do red lights mean something different in Paris?

Well, if you do not want to miss an appointment, you just run the lights.
Watched code never compiles.
I don't think is different. I think they just mean nothing

Like everyone else recently, I have just built a new computer. This particular machine is for NLE so I dumped some hardware into it. However, without thinking, I ordered Windows 7 Home Premium for a computer with 32gb of ram. Ugh. $90 for an upgrade too. What a rip.

Is the $90 for the online upgrade to Professional? I know you can pay to upgrade from one edition to another after you activate the product.

Sadly, people do not remember Linux has no NLE worth spit.

Well, if you use it at home then it's fine.
Sorry for that.
On the other hand I have 6 GB on my Win7 X86 machine so 2 GB are just wasted.
Veni, vidi, vici.

Me, too.
But I haven't gotten around to doing anything but putting it together, loading the loadables, and making sure it worked.
Have to rebuild my office first. A new machine deserves a new office.

Well, I finally took the plunge and after much searching around, bought myself this[^] bad boy. Took the option to go with 8GB, rather than 6GB, and it's absolutely screaming.
If you haven't done that already, I would strongly urge you to add an SSD drive.
I've ordered a 256GB SSD.

Fully agree. I am in love with SSD (pity of relation price-capacity)

Looks good, Pete.
Will you be developing on this laptop? I just purchased a new desktop after 6+ years. My VS2010 is so much happier now.

Oh yes. I'm not a gamer - but the graphics grunt will be really useful for testing our next generation product.

You don't need graphics for a VS plug-in!

Congrats on the machine, now I want a new machine.
It was broke, so I fixed it.

Sorry, but you got a bad deal IMO. This was half the cost for twice the system.
2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM (2.2 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz
1GB GDDR5 Radeon(TM) HD 6490M Graphics [HDMI, VGA]
16GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
Drive 1: Momentus® XT Solid State Hybrid Hard Drive
Drive 2: 750GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN
17.3" HD+ HP BrightView LED (1600 x 900)
Failure is not an option; it's the default selection.

You seem to think I paid full price for it - I didn't.
Mark Nischalke wrote: Drive 2: 750GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
I looked at machines with 5400rpm drives, and they were cheaper. I wanted a 7200rpm drive though - hooked up with a SSD drive.
OK, the memory isn't 16GB, but it's good enough for me.

You didn't say what you paid so the only data available was what is posted in the link.
Yes, 5400 is slower but that's why it is the secondary drive while the primary is a hydrid SSD. Would like to have gone with a full SSD but since Steve Jobs didn't even mention me in his will...guess I'll have to wait for Bill G to drop over.
