Did they have to realize the scope of the loan?

Not sure, but their interest was certainly peaked. Hertz was angry, and they soon realized the root of the problem was that he was a mean old square. To calm himself, he would often meditate and chant, "ohm...". But try as he may, he knew resistance was futile, and no matter watt he did, he felt powerless against their current way of thinking. He knew it was only a matter of time before he would be inducted into their customer base, and even when he cried out for the bank manager ("Oh, Henry!" he would exclaim) and get all wound up, noone would come to his assistance. "That Hertz", they said. "that really Hertz." He felt he was caught in a vicious cycle.

Getting the new workstation machine up and running. Finally have Windows 7. So far so good. All the apps and compilers have been loaded and the test compiles have succeeded.
Have noticed a few things with VS2010 that were odd, but so far have worked through them. And of course need to go to the old drive a pull a few forgotten things out like my Excel macros and my compiler batch files. I remember why the love/hate with getting a new machine.
Since I got in a little early today the first thing I did was to log into and made sure my CP login worked and that I could access the site.

No, but I can use it to play T-ball if I don't like it.

More to look forward to!
Near the end of the T-Ball season, the coaches decided to use a very-slow-pitch for the game. My son, I'm inordinately proud to say, hit a line drive of surprising velocity cleanly into the coaches' [unprotected!] crotch.
The double over look of surprise was even more priceless then an Iridium Mastercard.

That was one of the highlights of watching t-ball tournaments. Spot the unsuspecting (new) coach or parent who gets it in the optimal height zone.
Sometimes there would be a bet as to how long before the event occurred.

I signed my two sons up for soccer a few years ago. Ages 10 and 5.
The five year old would just dance around the field, or play with the grass the entire time. He couldn't have cared less about the ball being kicked around him.
Now that he is 7, we are going to try again. :-P

I'm sorry... he couldn't have cared less. Unless he really could have cared less.
Again... I'm sorry.
Also, the years I spent playing soccer were some of the most enjoyable I had. Outside the miles I would run at practice, followed by the lost Saturdays where I could have been playing with friends. Other than that... most enjoyable time I had when I was younger! If you don't count girls.

Fixed.
I never watched or cared for soccer at all until watching the older one play. Turned out it was quite exciting! Can't wait to watch them both again this year.

It is like a reflex. My girlfriend does the same thing to me when I say it wrong.
As for soccer, it is a lot more exciting after you have played it. You understand a lot of the little nuances. I still have to explain what offsides means to those who have only watched American Football. Good luck to both of yours! Winning is always a great feeling, although you learn more when you lose.

No offense taken. My wife does it all the time to me as well. You would think I would take the time to proofread before I post.
Thank you for the well wishes! I really don't care if they win or lose, as long as they try, and did their best, I'm good. I think it's insane how angry some parents can get.

I loathe meetings. But people feel "left out".
I did choose the apple computer lab for the group of 20. So maybe they'll be busy trying to maximize windows and won't care what I say.
It boggles my mind that being in a meeting somehow makes people feel included.

The only issues I have with not being invited to meetings are the action items that I get.

Saw this via the Code Project newsletter, and thought I'd comment:

Now.. I have a science background (chemistry and biology). So whenever I see nice pretty graphics, I tend to think in terms of statistical confounds and how people can accidentally (and sometimes on purpose) leave things out that affect a statistical analysis.
After reading the article, it seemed clear to me that what is NOT being considered is phone and desktop 'death rate'. All systems have an inherent lifetime.. and based on my casual and very non-scientific observations it has seemed to me that the 'death rate' for phones is much much higher than for desktops (how many folks do you know that have upgraded their iPhone more than once??
Now.. no one get me wrong.. there is a shift going on in the marketplace and 'phone-tops' are obviously here to stay and making a huge impact. I'm just keenly aware of how these types of things can be skewed by not paying attention to the whole picture. My take is that although there is a big shift underway, most folks are overstating it by not taking into account phone turnover (un-connections or un-installs if you will).
Ok.. let the banter begin

article wrote: 1.27M mobile devices sold or activated per day
According to statistics, 5 billion people have a mobile phone on Earth, so about 75% of the planet's population. This put this figure in perspective : this means 1 out of 4000 changes his/her mobile phone every day. Sounds plausible.
