Conan is only the soft version anyway. The original had some more interesting points on the list.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

As George Burns used to say about living to 100.
It's easy - live to be 99 and then be really careful for a year.

85. Air on a g string? (4)

TUNE (assuming G refers to a guitar/violin string tuned to 196.0 Hz)

Tough to argue with, but not what I had in mind.

Yeah, considering TUNE is a synonym of air.

That's weird or maybe ironic. I just can't get my head arounf Cryptic Crossword Clues at all, sometimes after I see the answer I still can't work backwards to get it.
This clue I didn't even think guitar, I went straight to a string up the arse crack and it was obvious.
I think there needs to be more gutter type CCC so I have at least a hope of getting an answer.

I am older and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Does anyone have contact details for the person (no doubt a millenial) who is responsible for the trend towards grey backgrounds and slightly different grey text? I would like to make a suitable sacrifice to him or her so that this punishment is remitted.

think of the benefits...
I recently bought a new 27" monitor (for 2nd screen). Was looking at 4k models - a quite good one was on a very good special, almost bought it. Then realised my current 25" 2K was a bit of a strain when I'm tired, so for $100 less I got the equivalent spec 27" 2K. (Very nice.) Why buy a 4K just to scale the damn thing back up 200% or more?
So what I'm saying is being a bit older much wiser why pay more for the likes of 4K screens and super-hi-res phones with giga-pixel lenses when you've only got at best 2K eyes.
More money for the kids inheritance kidding, meant quality food, drink, even furniture etc.

Thank you, but bother. I have three screens and now have a lust for three 4K screens. Might have to sell the dog.

I've been wondering that myself. Which is why I use a 40" 4K TV and run it at its native resolution - rescaling is just a waste of pixels IMNSHO.

I'm not even old (just above 20) and rarely do I have to go above 1080p...

Actually, it's something they just copied from TV commercials (i.e., the hell-spawn known as marketing) with fine print they really really really don't want to read.
Coming to mind: Senior insurance for $9.95/month: amazingly tiny light blue text on a medium blue (but not solid color) background.
By the way - even if you got your wish - can you read 15 lines of fine print in the 3 or 4 seconds they give you? Maybe it's better you don't even notice it's there.
