Thats BS. Pure and simple. I think he said it comes from 'bread'. Yes, we add bread crumbs to ours, as stated elsewhere. But brat is from braten. A roast, fried sausage.
And since English stemmed form german, why the hell would germans use an english word for 'bread' (when they have their own, brot) anyway?

Dont worry, many English people mispronounce words, or mistake their meaning.
They think decimate means to wipe out, not kill one in ten. Confuse think with thing, and mistake intense for intents. And on and on and on.

The underwater chicken is stunning, but you have to have all the ingredients, fresh. Dont know if you can get kaffir lime leaves, but they have to be fresh. Galangal can be replaced with ginger, its close enough.

Might be a little bit more tricky to get everything fresh; but if the difference between dried and fresh herbs is similar to Oregano or chilli's, then it would not be the same taste.
